I smoked the robusto last night and found it nice. It was indeed very full bodied with a nice dark wrapper and cubanesque nuances. There was a little sweetness to the taste and it burned very very slow. It was evident this cigar would benefit with some additional age but was overall pleasant. I still prefer Tatuaje and Cabaiguan from Pete but a nice change of pace for sure.

Ok, having ordered a sampler of all 5 sizes from NHC, and having smoked 3 of them so far, I have mixed emotions about these. I smoked the Belicoso and the Petite within 2 days of receiving them and was disappointed, just couldn't get any flavor out of them. All of the cigars are beautiful to look at, impeccably constructed, beautiful dark wrappers and they smoke like a dream, but no flavor other than just good quality tobacco. Just finished the Hermosa after letting it sit for 3 weeks and my opinion hasn't changed much. The cigar burned and smoked perfectly, but nothing but straight forward tobacco flavor. If these are intended to have some sort of flavor profile, I'm not getting it. The aroma is nice, but all I get is dark earthy flavor, not like a Padron which is packed with rich, dark, espresso coffee like flavor. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed smoking the cigar, but no real pronounced flavor profile to speak of. Will I buy more, probably, will they get better with age who knows, I still have the lonsdale and the corona extra sitting in my humi. Guess I'll just wait 6 months before smoking the others and see what happens.

I think I'm going to give the sampler ago. I've heard from a few others the flavor is similar to a Padron. Anyone else think so that's tried these? There not as good of course just similar taste profile?

Outstanding cigars. I had my first one this last Saturday and I was impressed by the lack of intensity but the true roundness and boldness of the flavors.

If I had to relate to another line, Padron 1926's come to mind.

Thanks for the insight Bear. On that note I will be ordering a sampler tomorrow.

I find these pretty mediocre, fairly straightforward. The Tatuajes are much better.
And no, I would not consider buying anymore.

ECHORD nailed it. These are a really great snack cigar. Picked up two after reading this thread. They are different from anything Pete Johnson has done. I vote in favor! Nice work Pete!

The construction on these are excellent. The burn was perfect. The ash was beautiful and tight. The draw was nice as well. The only one I had was a #2. I was not impressed by the flavor. It tasted more like a $4.00 cigar. I kept thinking it was a cigar trying to be another cigar.

I did taste a resemblance to a 1926, but not nearly as nice. May have been the lack of complexity. I also kept thinking back to my Rocky Patel 1990 Vintage days and CAO L'Anniversarys.

I'm still dying to try the Tatuaje black and Exclusivos.

I was at my local B&M and they have a #2 there, and I thought it was a good solid smoke, just like others have stated here the taste profile does mimic the Padron 26 line, just of course nowhere as good.

I think the #2 is very good. Should be the newcomer of the year.
