I smoked these long ago and really liked them, but I understand they were re-released a year-or-so ago with a new blend.

Has anybody tried these lately?

I have smoked a few in the last month and I think they are a very solid cigar, especially for the price. I purchased a couple five packs so I'm not sure what the date is on the box they came from.

I bought a box of the torpedos a few months back. They're a very smooth, flavorful smoke. Definitely one that I will try to always have on hand. I've only tried the newer ones though.

One of my favorites. I have boxes of the robusto and torpedo. Great mild smoke.

Stopped by my B&M and picked up a few Robustos. Smoked em both yesterday and immediately ordered a couple five-packs of Robustos from Famous while I decide on what size to get a box of. I’m leaning towards a Corona and make it my morning smoke. If these are a new blend, they are as-good, if not better than I remember.

The two I picked up at my B&M were aged for about 3-months and were fantastic. There was a wood taste, cedar I think, that I’ve never tasted in any cigar before.

Ordered a box of Churchills yesterday from Famous. Should get them tomorrow.

the wood taste I connected with was the the term sweet wood. this was with the first cameroon. What's this about the blend changing? What's the blend now b/c I thought the original 1916 had some honduran in it. Im not a true fan of honduran tobacco. I tasted it in the patel 92 I had the other day. I liked that cigar but I really think I can taste that strong honduran tobacco taste. I dont really know if that's it but Im starting to think it is. What's up with the noventa. Has anyone tried that cigar? what's it like?

Late this afternoon I received my box of Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon Churchills. They arrived with a 69% RH Humidipak inside and a box date (from Famous) of 10/2007.

Lit-up one...an unbelievable smoke. This cigar rates way up there with me.

I had swore off Torano but you are going to make me want to try another 1916.

It's a combination of the Honduran & Nicaraguan filler, Nicaraguan binder and a tasty cameroon wrapper.

This is now my all-time favorite cameroon which includes AF Don Carlos and Oliva G. This is a very complex smoke.

I keep giving the oliva G a chance but I come up short. I like it but it doesnt make me want to buy a box. It like a cigar I would take if I just wanted a cigar and wasn't looking for WOW flavors. I cant seem to get a chance at the AF don carlos. The first one I tried wasnt all that great, the second unraveled on me before I got a chance to enjoy it.

Great Cigar Great Company, try the 1959 Exodus Torpedo, you will be extremely satisfied

You might look into Camacho Select. Similar in concept -- Cameroon wrapper over stronger Nicaraguan filler -- but with more finesse and flavor than the Oliva. More expensive, too, but...I guess sometimes you get what you pay for.

Picked up a 1959 Exodus Torpedo today. I'm going to try it later on.

Just got a 5 pack of the 1959 Silver Grand Churchills. I haven't heard much on these but I plan on trying one Saturday night.

Just noticed I picked up a 1959 Exodus Torpedo Silver Edition which is a different blend than the regular 1959 Exodus.

Still, perfect construction, perfect draw, perfect burn, and fantastic flavors. A very nice smoke.

I'm starting to notice a trend in all the Torano cigars where construction, draw, and burn is always spot-on.

Steve, if haven't already, try the regular 1959 Exodus. I rated it higher than than the Silver.

I agree with you on the construction of Torano cigars. Another Torano I would recommend is the Virtuoso. I always seem to get a unique earthy flavor that I rarely get from other cigars I smoke. This cigar is a nice change of pace for me.

For the price, it is hard to beat Torano's and Oliva's, IMO.

Seeing this thread excites me. I've an Exodus robusto hanging out in the humi that looks awfully tasty.

I picked up a regular 1959 Exodus and a Virtoso yesterday (both robustos). I'll be trying them out soon.

You know, I could really go for a 1916 tonight but they're at the very bottom of my coolerdor and I just don't have the energy to play "cigar box jenga" since everything is packed in their pretty tight. Doh!
