I just placed my order for some awesome cigars. I ordered the Oliva Serie S Churchill's and the CFO by Oliva. I am very excited about both. Has anyone smoked the CFO by Oliva cigars? I just want to know what they think about them. thanks

Wait til you get them... It takes alot of restraint to allow the cigars to stabilize in a good environment. If I don't have a good selection in the humi when my smokes arrive, I usually end up grabbing one of the new ones. After doing this for several months and now letting them rest, your patience will be well rewarded.

I picked cigars up again about 8 months ago after a couple year break. Last time I only smoked Fuente 858's and Punch Gran Cru Monarchas. That was all I knew. Though they are good cigars in my opinion, by reading the forum here, I began sampling new cigars. I've tried over 50 different cigars and if offered an 858 or Gran Cru, I won't turn it down, but I certainly won't reach for them first.

Below are a few links I have found very useful. The most enjoyable thing about this hobby to me is sampling new cigars. You can just blindly do it as many of my friends do and get disappointed more often than not, or you can take the referrals of the many veterans on this site.

This has worked for me and has made smoking so much more enjoyable. Many of the cigars I've had are not available in any of the stores around me and I live in a pretty populated area. I have 5-6 tobacconists locally and none of them carry one of my favorite cigars nor do they carry other very good ones.

If you search for "online retailers" you should find a thread on many different retailers, some who will sell cigars individually. You can create your own sampler pack.

BTW, my favorite non-cuban is a Padron 1926 #1. I used to prefer the natural, but I've started leaning towards the maduros more and more. My second favorite is a Litto Gomez Small batch #2

Good luck and enjoy

Yes, thats great advice. I just want to reiterate to research before you buy and that the search function on this forum is a great resource for doing that. Not only will you be happier with your cigars, it will help keep sales of crappy cigars down Smile

I agree. I have learned a lot from everyone's advice. My favorite cigars are 64s and 26s. Has anyone tried the padron 3000 (I also like the 2000). I read that they have a some hints of chocolate and coffee. I know everyone has a different pallet. But I value everyone's opinion in this forum. I have yet to be let down.

All the Padron thousand series have a similar flavor. The 3000's are good. My favorite in the line is the 5000 maduro. Such a great, consistent smoke. I prefer the 5000 for the length and ring size. Funny how I can have some top shelf smokes in the humi yet still crave a 5000. Good stuff.

The 64's and the 26's are the best. Nothing tastes that good for the next few days after smoking these. The 1926 #1 is my all time favorite. The small batch #2, lusitano and anejo are good as well. The only thing that came close was a Cohiba siglo VI.

Over the next few months, I'll be expanding my horizons a little so that may change... Wink
