Im not a big cameroon smoker but here lately I have tried a few that were very nice. That and we havnt had a Cameroon thread in a while. I was gifted a Flor De Oliva Gran Cameroon torp By Seahawk fan a while back and it was really good. Here are some more

Carlos Torano 1916 -I just purchased a box of the torps.
Vegas de Fonseca
Monte Afrique Big Grin
FDO Gran Cameroon

I havnt smoked nearly as much cameroons as I have other stuff but out of the few these are the ones Ive liked the best so far. I didnt even list Fuente products(hemmingways, Doncarlos, etc) because we all no about them dont we. Big Grin Don carlos is a favorite out of them all though Wink

Upmann Vintage Cameroon is also pretty good. The CAO L'Aniversaire (?) Cameroon can be good, but they seem inconsistent to me. I've had great ones and I've had terrible ones.

CAO Cammies - Agree. They good but way too inconsistent on the draw. Sometime perfect, other times you'll pull you tonsils out trying to get some smoke.

I like the Excaliber 1066 Merlins. Great taste, great price, but they wrappers are REALLY brittle. Worth it though.

I've been wanting to try those Upmanns since I hear a lot of great things about them.

Stoge how do you like those Torano Torps? Cameroon is my favorite natural wrapper (ok, next to Cuban), although for quite a while now I've been stuck on maduros. Here's some of my favs.

Torano 1916
H.Uppmann Vintage
CAO Anni (like others have said, can be inconsistent)
Hemingways
FDO's

I feel like I'm forgeting something Confused.

Definately the Hemingways and CAO Anni's. I'm a bit confused about the Uppmann though. I had a 5 pack of those in the 444 size come in last October and recieved one in the robusto size as part of a sampler pack. I really didn't think much of either of them. The 444's simply didn't have enough tobacco; they had almost no flavor. The robusto was very smooth, and smoked nicely but I found a similar problem, so mild it lacked tastable flavors. m'I missing something here?

Fuente, Fuente, Fuente, and Fuente!

After that of course, I really like the Oliva Grand Cameroons. Very tasty, great construction, and awesome price. You can get a box at smokeall in the $50-$60 range.

Ditto on the Hemingways. Albeit on the mild side, the Signature is probably the best Cameroon out there.

My three favorite Cameroon wrappers, in order

Carlos Torano 1916 Cameroon
Arturo Fuente Hemmingway Signature
Perdomo Reserve La Tradicion Cameroon

Yeah, I know, I said Perdomo, but this is the Cameroon wrapper alternative to the Reserve Champagne series and I love the Cameroon wrapper on these, its really a flavorful smoke. See, Perdomo does make something I like Big Grin

I used to buy the La Unica Cameroon Torpedo quite a bit and always seemed to enjoy them. Now I don't know if it was because it is a legit great smoke or because I had smoked so few legit good smokes at the time and they just stood out. I'll need to pick one up and give it a whirl now that I am an "afishyonado" Roll Eyes

The Vintage Cameroons ironically seem to need rest to bring out their flavors rather than to soften them. I don't have any experience with the 444s but the other vitolas I do find enjoyable. They're only a mild-medium smoke but the construction and burn are flawless and the flavors are nice especially in the Belicoso and Toro sizes.

I'll second the hemmingway sig and add don carlos.

The torano 1916 is a helluva deal too with some good age.

The H upmanns are too sedate for me. They get kinda good toward the end but the beginning is like smoking air.

I am going to have to give the perdomos a whirl. The tradicion reserve line is pretty good.

The afrique is a solid contender too.

Are you basing that on the OGM's I sent you? If so, I just smoked my second from the box on Sunday, and they are still a bit harsh. If you've already smoked the few I sent you, let me know. Wink

No, Im not. I had a Gran Maduro from Seahawk about a week before I got yours and his had some age to it. They are good, I just find the Cammie better IMO. Yes I smoked One of them and it still needed some settling, I'll pick up another in about 2 months or so. Wink

I smoked both of the FDO gran maduros you sent Idesign. They were both good. I guess I need to try the cammies too now. These smokes are cheap aren't they? I though I remembered seeing them somewhere for like 50 or 60 a box. Is that right?
