I was gifted a box of 10 from a friend. He was aware that I usually only smoke Cuban cigars, and thought that I should try some "very good" NC`s! Sorry to say my friend, but these cigars are the worst I ever had. Nice construction, but what is that when the cigars have no taste, no complexity, nothing at all. Cigars should be pure pleasure, I can`t say these Macanudos gave me anything of that!

A year or two back CA named this one of the top 25 or fifty cigars of the year. I had never been inclined to try a Macanudo, but I decided to give it a try. After all, CA had steered me to some truely wonderful smokes in the past. So I picked one up and experianced exactly what you discibed. Good construction and a total lack of flavor. What a waste of time and money.

They have not been any good since they stopped making them in Jamaica.Even then they were considered a beginners smoke at best.Although in the 1980's when i began smoking cigars i have to say they were a great smoke.I used to enjoy them with dessert after a good meal.Doc is right they have been living on there name since the 1980's.I think they stopped being made in Jamaica in the late 80's or early 90's. Sure would like to get my hands on some of those.

They are extremely mild, bordering on bland/tasteless. The cigar bars made a fortune selling them to the kiddies during the boom.

i have to say that i have never been fond of macs. i tried the cafe hyde park and the gold label pyramid i just couldnt handle them. something about how they tasted. then i thought that i would buy the vintage. they have to be good right? it was worse. the construction was shabby and it tasted like gas station cigars. i threw the other one away. 11$ for nothing. since then ive looked at the hyde park again at the local store and they do look very good. i just dont know if i want to bother trying one again.

I can agree, I recently smoked a Hyde Park about 2 weeks ago. Didn't really care for it. Thought about aging a few but some of these posts are deterring me, haha.

I went a to a Macanudo party at my local Tinder Box yesterday and I had the maduro, cafe, and robust. The construction was very good, especially on the maduro, way better than I expected. Would I smoke these cigars on a regual basis? No, but once in a while when I feel like a mild cigar I might. Although, I would probably go for a 5 Vegas Gold, I think they're the best mild body cigar for the price.

That's because they are sold everywhere. Drugstores, supermarkets, 7-11's and on and on. I had one not to long ago, and it tasted like I was sucking moisture from a damp rag. Just. That. Bland.
