Hey...I know you all hate when newbies ask questions, but I am gonna swallow my pride, emerge from the shadows and ask anyway...you know where I can get a good Cuban?...........just kidding!

Really...flipping through my new Mikes catalog, they have a great deal on Lusitanias....just wondering if its too good a deal. Looks very enticing, just didn't know if anyone had a heads up before I think about ordering a box or two.

Thanks,
Ted

Ted, I have never smoked one but seen a review and rating on it in smoke magazine a couple of months back. I'm at work right now and as soon as I get home I'll post the info for you. How about that for helping and FNG out! Big Grin

They sound a bit like padrons being a puro from esteli and all. I wonder if they are any good. The padrons aren't that expensive. I would stick with them. My reason being, if the lusitanias were as good they wouldn't be selling them for 30 bucks a box.

Knew it was too good to be true. This from the white ash website:

"LUSITANIA
Handmade in the highly acclaimed Perdomo factory.
Lusitania is a Nicaraguan "puro", handmade with only the finest tobaccos from the Nicaraguan region of Jalapa and Esteli. Using these complex aromatic tobaccos, Tabacalera Perdomo has created a smooth, medium bodied blend graced with a rich Nicaraguan sun grown wrapper that offers a rich, satisfying finish. Lusitania is a must for all cigar enthusiasts!"

So the best you can expect is a cigar that tastes somewhat like padron but goes out 3 or 4 times before you are done - in true perdomo fashion.

Hard work may pay off eventually but laziness always pays off now.

I just recieved a box from Mike's on thursday. I smoked on last night it seemed to be very well constucted and had a nice even burn. I have been smoking cigars only about a year so I can't really tell what flavors it had, I will just say it was worth the price and I think I would order them again. Also I think some time in the humidor might make it better.

Let us pray for those brave lads who are willing to risk thier mouthes and reputations so the rest of us don't have to. They will be remembered
lololololol The lusitania was a ship that was sunk by a Sub in wwI so this cigar is named after that ship. Not a name I'd give a great cigar. But go figure! Irv

hey severe I have been trying all kinds of cigars over the last year and some of them tasted like they have been on the bottom of the ocean since WW1 LOL. I even ordered a box of SRO's about a month ago after Lew said he hated them boy are they bad!!!! So much for my reputation LOL.

Well Hv! I take my hat off to you for paying the ultimate price for a really bad cigar. Your loss
will save hundreds of smokers the trouble and this qualifies you as one brave lad. Hang in there! Irv

Smalltownsmoker, Since you're another SC boy, I'll try to help ya.

I actually had one of the maduro torp's on Saturday evening.

It was full bodied and had very good construction. I had uneven burns during the entire cigar. I was, and still am, contemplating a purchase. I received a sales flyer from Mike's on Saturday, as a matter of fact. Still up in the air about this one.

Drop me an email. I'd like to talk with ya.
