I have been picking out many new cigars as a "noob", and just had a fuentes that was really good, and I want to ID it. I have purchased so many singles lately, that I lose track of where I bought them, and what the name is.
To Start, the size and shape was similar to a curley head. It had the small red and gold cigar band that read "Arturo Fuente Special Selection" this was a smaller ring, and the construction was rather "toothy?" or lumpy? Almost looked like one of those cheap "backwoods" smokes. The cap was slightly pointed at the end.
I found the cigar fantastic, and super flavorful. This was dark, probibly a maduro.

Anyone have a clue what cigar this is?

It was just what the band said, a "Fuente Special Selection." Fuente releases cigars from time to time that are unique and "one off." This has included unusual combinations that aren't normally available or listed in regular production. I have seen Sun Grown 858's, reddish rosado wrapped 858's, Candela Chateaus and Sun Grown Canones.

It sounds like you got a Sun Grown of some sort. These are dark wrappers that can be a bit rough. Probably a Lonsdale or Privada size.

If you want more info, try the Cigar Family Board, those guys live and die Fuente and know all of the rare and one off products.

Here is a great example of some of the more rare stuff: Rare Fuentes

Thanks for the reply. Looks like the hunt is on to find where I bought the darn thing. As a noob, I only bought one and now I want to get a few more. Time to start scouring the smoke stores. I've been to every one in the Madison WI area, so It's going to be tough to remember.
I have to admit, it didn't look like anything special, but it smoked like a dream!

The curly head deluxe maduro is a very nice smoke especially for the price. Get a box if you can.

Funny you mentioned that...
25 of these cheap little gems are now resting in my humi. Hehehe! The woman bought them for me! (gotta love that!).
It worries me though...

She's up to something...
