I try to keep my box purchases to under $5/cigar. Anyone have favorites that meet this requirement. I shoot for Torpedos and maduros when possible.

Thanks for the ideas.

Padron 2000 Maduro. Best value in that range, in my opinion.

try nording, rocky patel makes these they have dark wrappers not sure if they are classified as a maduro, they also have the torpedo shape your looking for.a hidden gem of a cigar for about 90 bucks a box, another favorite of mine is gran habano,i'm sure you'll find a stick in their lineup that matches your needs.

I find Flor De Murias, Epicure (maduro) a nice smoke. I never heard of them before my brother gave me one. Nice taste and smell. They have a Mexican binder, DR/Mex filler and a CT maduro broadleaf wrapper. Mexican tobacco has a fairly bad rep, but these are pretty good cigars. You can get them from jrcigar for around $45 a box, less if you use their auction feature.

Anyone else try these?

Alan

Another good one (in my opinion) is the peterson gran reserva. I just picked up a box for about 50.

I like cigars a little on the stronger side, and regularly smoke Punch Rothschilds, Joya de Nicaragua Consuls, and sometimes TeAmo Toros, all natural wrapper. All are well under $3/stick from Famous and Mike's.

If you like maduros try Mayorga Maduro, Sancho Panza Double Maduro, and Maria Mancini Magic Mountain Maduro. All great tasting maduros and in your price range.

Yes! BTW, the 2000 is not, of course, a torpedo. It's a robusto that ends up being only ~$3.5 per stick in a box of 25. Generally, if I smoke a sub-$5 a stick, I prefer something in the robusto size-range because of the direct correlation between how much I am willing to spend and how long I am interested in smoking. There is a torpedo in the thousand series as well but that's going to run you slightly more than $6 a stick in a box of 25. If you're looking for a bigger cigar that's just about $5 in a box, check out the CAO Brazilia Ipanema. It's a churchill, very well reviewed. Can't recommend it personally but I've been thinking about testing one out and going after a box if I enjoy it.

For the price I would have to say anything made by 5 vegas. I enjoy either the classic or the maduro and its well under 5 a piece for a box.

TNT Cigar has Padron 6000 Maduros for $119.55, which equates to $4.78 per stick.

I buy the Camacho Corojo Torpedo around here for $106 a box. Ditto for the Brazilia Samba as well.
