Sobek...I guess I wasn't clear. A box of Boli PC is $110, or around $5 per cigar. PAM Principes are $10 per single. A box of 25 would be around $220-250 or so, about the same price as a box of Mag 46, you are correct.

To spend $10 per cigar to replace cigars I currently smoke that cost $5 per cigar is silly. I'm not adverse to spending money, but I like to get value. I can get SS at $5 per cigar, so its a more even swap vs. the Boli. The Principe is damn fine, though, maybe even better than the Boli, so I will probably occasionally buy it despite the cost. Better vaule is to get PAM Exclusivos at a buck more, and compared to PSD4 at a similar cost per box, they are not a bad trade-off. Not likely to order more CC for a few months, until I can order 4 or more boxes.

The Super Selection #11 is a Davidoff PC cigar that is made exclusively for the Madison Avenue Davidoff Store. Send me an email if your interested in a PIF, I'll send you a couple and you send something comparable.

Meh, that makes more sense. But here is what i don't understand...

The fuente SS's are the same price, and you can't tell me those are just as good as a boli.

Isn't the appeal of going NC to get something satisfactory that is far cheaper?

If you really want to get NC, I find the Padilla hybrids to be quite decent. They taste like a watered down partagas short...to me anyways.

Yeah, I agree with sobek. If you have to spend 10 bucks a pop on a NC PC then it isn't worth it. The PAM pc comes to mind. The tres mystique is good but also not worth the dough. For that cost get some shorts or a boli PC. Hell, for that price pick up a box of BBF's or RASS. Anyway, the JDN, camacho, cubita, and padilla are the closest you will find to CC's. Maybe there is something in there. Also, the NC bolivar fuerte has a pc that is decent. It isn't going to taste like a cuban but it is no slouch either.

My whole idea was to find something to tie me over until the next shipment of Bolis and perhaps discover a new smoke in the process. I do not think I'll do better than Boli PC at $110 a box from NC or CC producers, IMO. They are the best at that size and will always be on order. I should just buy 2 boxes next time so I don't run out. PAM Principe is damn good, though. D'off MB PC is strength without nuance, IMO. SS is in between.

Update!!! The best NC PC's your gonna get are the JDN Machito and the Padron Londre. I have had several in the last month and both are great. The JDN is a very nice Medium Full smoke that is a must try for the PC smoker. The Londre is also a must try, all the spicy, woody, cocoa flavors of the k series wrapped up in a pc size. I have some of both if you would like to try them O man, just let me know. My favorite PC of all time is the Partagas Short but these two are pretty good for NC's. IMO

Stoge...I appreciate the kind offer, but I have two local shops I'll try first. They carry the brands but not those sizes when I've gone in lately. Both the Padron and JDN are among my favorite NC smokes in the larger sizes.

I forgot about the CAO brazilia pirhana. That is a nice smoke in a little package. The padron delicias are also very good.

My vote goes for the JdN Machito as well. Hey Stoge, I could be wrong, but isn't the P. Londres a corona? I think it's too long to be a pc.

Hemingway Short Stories are always a great pick. Wish I could get my hands on some of the new Havana Upmann short robustos!

Lately, I've been buying Fonseca 2-2's. $29 a box at my local shop, even cheaper online. Much lighter in body than Super Hoyos or London Clubs but more powerful than the bigger sizes in the regular Fonseca line. I also love the Partagas Sabroso - great short smoke! Sometimes, I take the 'long way' home just to finish one. Not quite a petite corona, and while you won't quite finish one in 20 minutes, 30 minutes is usually sifficient to get most of the way there.

Yes you are correct Sir, my bad. It's still what I would consider a short smoke. I hope you enjoy yours Wink

Just tried a Cohiba Pequeno. Great little cigar! $14 buys a tin of 6. Very smooth and creamy with a woody component, and it smokes cool...many little smokes don't. It's a little smaller than a petit corona -- it's about 4.5 inches by 36 ring -- but it's a very nice 15-minute smoke.
