My question is: My wife would like to try some of the flavored cigars. If I get a couple of samplers, store them in a separate humidor and she doesn't like them, Can I just air out the humidor and still use it for normal cigars, or is it forever doomed? Thinking of trying to get her the CAO flavors. The more chocolatey ones.

Good question. Your guess is as good as mine. To me, it would depend on how long they were in there. It should be fine with a month of airing out I would think.

I just like cigars, is that ok?

Place her flavored cigars in a Tupperware or a small cooler with a humidity device.

If she does not like them you can clean out the Tupperware or cooler with hot water and soap.

I would be very cautious placing flavored cigars in a humidor that I may later use for real cigars.

Doc is right. You could very well ruin your humidor that way, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with storing cigars in Tupperware.

I picked up a few Javas for my wife. Maybe Rocky Patel owns the brand, but Drew Estate makes them. That, or the Drew Estate Naturals seem like the favored smokes among flavored cigar cognoscenti.

You'll never fully get the smell out of the humidor. Once the oils get into the wood, they are there to stay.

OK thanks for the tips. I've got a smaller sized lunch box type cooler I can use I guess.

Scottological: How did your wife like the Javas? My wife would like something in the chocolate spectrum. Right now I've got some of the CAO flavors ordered for her to try. The Eileens Dream and the Karmasutrasplash. Hopefully this will turn her on to some of the other stuff. Maybe she'll be picking out her own humi in a while. Big Grin
