About 8 months ago, I started smoking cigars.

My first smoke was a Partagas Black Pyramid, and I loved it. Over the past 8 months, I've smoked Romeo&Julieta Reserve Maduro Belicosos, Hoya de Monterey (Dark Sumatra Media Noche & Excalibur), Patargas #8, Partagas Spanish Rosado Familia, A. Fuente Hemmingway (Classic & Signature), AVO Maduro Robusto, AVO Domaine 50, Partagas Seasonal(Horrible!!!!), Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park, CAO CX2 (the huge Belicoso), Cohiba XV, CAO Brazilia, Ashton Cabinet, and a few other sticks given from friends.

From that list, my favorites are the Partagas Black Label (I cannot stop loving that taste), CAO CX2 & Brazilia (Wow, I am actually upset that I did not smoking these sooner), A. Fuente Hemmingways (A Hemmingway and a glass of Napa Silver Oak is pure), and the AVO's ( I like the Maduro, but the Domaine is outstanding). I wan't more, but my knowledge base is minimal. Where would you go from here?

Thank you very much.

Just keep doing what you're doing. try as many different cigars as you can get your hands on. Build a relationship with your local tobacco shop. If you really like a certain smoke, then buy a box, but continue to buy singles and try new things.

Have you tried the AVO 80th yet? Very good cigar, but a little pricey.

You're never going to just jump to the absolute perfect cigar. They're each different and tastes are very subjective. Likewise, your tastes will change and evolve over time.

That said, give a try to Padilla Miami 8x11 (that's not the size, it's the brand), and La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero (a very strong cigar, but if you like the Partagas Black, you might like that one.) Also, the Rocky Patel Vinntage 1992 is an excellent full bodied smoke with lots of flavor and character.

Not that it matters, but a Partagas was my first cigar as well. I agree with Scottological that cigar smoking is very subjective so you will get as many different answers to your question as people responding.

I also agree with his Rocky Patel Vintage 1992 (& 1990) suggestion. I found it to be an exceptional smoke. Other favorites of mine that you might want to try are Padron 1964 Maduros, La Gloria Cubana, and La Perla Habana. If you like a strong cigar, give a La Flor Dominicana a try.

Happy smoking! Cool
