My grandfather has been dead for over 10 years. I never was able to enjoy a cigar with him, but I think of him frequently while smoking since he is the only person I know that smoked cigars.
I found a empty box of Garcia y Vega Gran Premio in his stuff. I remember buying a box at the smoke shop with him when I was a kid. It is interesting to me to find this box since I had no memory of the specific brand or model he smoked.
Anybody tried these things? Aren't they kind of a machine made rock gut smoke? I figured he'd have better taste.
Anyhow, I think cigar smokers have a connection a shared experience that can transcend time, place, and purhaps life itself. This smoke is for you "Grandfather John".
ps, I keep his old desktop humi filled with a few good ones just for good measure.

May not apply in your scenario, but be aware that many of the old domestic brand names at one time were long filler hand mades, but later changed to a short tobacco machine made process.
