Number of posts indicates your level and length of involvement in this online community, which breeds additional understanding.

It may be true that someone with 3 posts has been smoking cigars for 20 years longer than I have...but if they've been smoking Partagas Limited Reserve and Onyx on a porch by themsevles, their experience really means nothing. More often than not, members with fewer posts tend to post things like, "Tatuaje sucks...these bundles I get from Thompson are just as good and only $2 a stick!" It's not always true, of course, but usually.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that smokem1 actually enjoys these and would rather not create a furor, increasing demand and therefore price.

Post counts? You can participate for years, re-register under a different name and start over at zero. You can frequent other boards under different names but be new to this board. You can lurk indefinitely and post rarely. It doesn't change your level of knowledge or appreciation of BB etiquette.

In your case it may not be true but in my experience, it is. If nothing else, a regular poster is expanding his circle of friends beyond his local B&M store.

Only a noob would dismiss a cigar like Tatuaje by saying "No....really...these things suck." Come on, by any objective standard, even if these aren't to smokem's taste, they are still a pretty remarkable product. That is, if you know what seperates a great cigar from a mediocre one. Spouting out purely subjective nonsense with nothing descriptive to back it up is a waste of space on this board. Did smokem object to the flawless construction? The perfect wrappers? At least give me something more than "they suck" or "they don't suck."

One of the unfortunate characteristics of a BB is lack of hearing the pronunciation of some of these brands, etc. In case anyone else is deprived like myself or remotely interested....

Tatuaje Pronunciation

"I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor - heavy, but with a touch of mellow smoothness."

The sound button in your link didn't work for me. Maybe it's because I use a Mac.

Just had my first thanks to Scottological's box pass. I wish I could put into words the unique flavor profile and complexity I experienced with the Tatuaje Cazadores. All I can say is that I truly enjoyed it and look forward to the next. There are only a few cigars that have had that kind of appeal to me so far. This was one of those cigars you hate to put down.

For $7 to $12 they are worth every penny. If you smoke 'em everyday they drain the wallet. But everything in moderation.
These are better than many cubans I've tried in my young cigar experience. In fact only the Monte #2 and Partagas Serie D #4 taste better, but are very similar. They're a real standout that I think distances their regualar line in quality well away from those of the big names and marketers.

I'm a big Tatuaje fan. I like the Reservas a lot. I also picked some of the Cabaiguans up last week and am letting them rest before firing them up.

Hey andymiami -- ever been to the Pepin Garcia factory? Do they sell cigars out of there?

When I was doing those photo tours of different companies (La Luna, Perdomo and Padron) I tried a number of times to go see the Padilla operation as well as Pepin's. All I got every time I asked was "no".

I too enjoyed looking at your photo tours. Some day I will have to take some time off and make the journey to the cigar manufacturers and tour their facilities for myself.
