What does an Opus X robusto run at the cigar shops in US?

I was at the Fuente Bar at Ceasars and I think I was paying a serious premium (somewhere around $30). They are $65 here in Toronto and am thinking about having some brought in.

The msrp for the Opus X robusto is 10.50. Opus has never had a price increase since they came out in 1995.

They are one of the most reasonably priced super premiums on the market.

The cheapest is the #5 at 7.50 and the double corona is 14.50. My favorite in the line is the Fuente Fuente size ( 5 5/8 by 46 ) and it retails for 9.00.

I have NEVER seen an Opus for less than $20 per stick - and I have been a big fan since they came out in '95. If you do, buy them all day long. If you are lucky enough to have a local tobaccoonist that sells them for MSRP, consider yourself blessed. I think most B&M's sell their allotment to the online vendors for a premium and just never plan to receive them.

mab, where do get your information? I don't know of any authorized retailer who would sell their Opus inventory to an online vendor. Only a complete fool would not sell them to their walk in customers.

There are tons of retailers who sell Opus for msrp. There are so many different tobacco taxes in different states that prices will vary all over the country. Here in Florida there is no tobacco tax and there are plenty of retailers sellling them for msrp.

I'm just saying consider yourself lucky. I have never seen them for msrp or anywhere close in Tennessee or Virginia.

Why would a retailer sell them? Money! If an online retailer can get $40 per stick, then they can afford to give the retailer double msrp, right?

My guy sells them at MSRP. Always has. Limit 4 per customer. Everyobdy gets a few when they come in. I refuse to pay a penny over MSRP for OpusX, VSG, etc. To do so only encorages the gougers.

I just bought the last three Opus X's at a local shop, but I am not sure on what style they are. They are about 7 1/2 -8 inches long, cost me 22 bucks a piece. Going to have one tomorrow night if the rain holds off.
I am a newbie to the boards....so, Hi everyone!

7-5/8"? Probably a Double Corona. A top 25 cigar if I recall correctly. Sounde like you're in for a couple enjoyable hours.

In heaven there ain't no beer,
that's why I drink it here.

Just hit Holts in Philly this weekend for:

Opus #5's @ $7.50

Power Rangers @ $8.50 (I think)

I didn't keep track of additional sizes, as I only had a few minutes, but the prices were definitely better than I get in NJ.

Old Viginia Tabacco Co sells them within a dollar or two of MSRP. They used to sell them through their webiste. I have no idea if they still do, but its worth a look.

They don't call or notify anyone, they just post them so you've kindda got to get luck.y

I was recently in the Dominican Republic and the airport duty free even charges $22US a stick. In the summer I had the chance to buy them for about $11 a stick. I should have bought 5 boxes. Now I can't even find them anywhere except for a few odd places that are charging at least $30 a stick. If you have the chance to buy a box for under $300 at any point then take it! Hope that helps.
