For all LFD fans.....LG Diez Vintage 2008 3rd (last) installment has shipped and arrived. Even a few ultra rare boxes with the Oscuro wrapper have shown up. Hope everyone has a smokin holiday season!
"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points." -Don Pepin Garcia

Litto is dating his cigars now. 2008 is the boxing/shipping date. All the tobacco is four years old, so a 2008 box has tobacco from a 2004 crop, the 2009s culled from 2005, etc. Better way to keep track of allocation and of crop date. Also they no longer come in those maroon Asian-looking six-sided varnished boxes of 50, but are now in boxes of 24. Hope this answers your question.

The vintages are little more "refined" as opposed to the raw power the original Diez line. They are just as flavorful IMO but a little more on the medium side of strentgh. Very very nice.
