I had a thread about the CAO Anaconda. I remarked about what the dealers are required to buy in order to receive the Anaconda.
Now the thread is gone.
What's up David? What law was broken?

I've never heard that it was Taboo to post wholesale prices. I would like an explanation please.

If you posted a wholesaler's prices, no wonder they deleted the topic. I would have if I were a moderator here Roll Eyes

Sounds strange to me. One of the nice things about web-based communication was the free flow of information. So long as it's not harmful to anyone, why not. IMHO wholesale prices only help dealers who try to give their customers the best prices. We'll find out the prices anyway, so why quash communications? Roll Eyes

Because that's not the purpose of this forum. If you want retail prices from AM, have him send them to you in an email or he can post it somewhere else. This is Cigar Aficionado's forum & they can edit the content however they like.

All I was doing was posting what I thought was some interesting info on the CAO Anaconda and what the dealers have to do in order to carry them. I didn't know this was a trade secret. I got the info by calling CAO myself. They never asked who I was but I told them that I was not a cigar retailer. Knowing such, they still offered the info. If CAO doesn't mind giving out the info, why should CA?
I can see policing the forums for Cuban sources or someone trying to sell something, but this was just the sharing of non-cuban information. I'm fully aware of who owns this forum, I just think that deleting the thread was a little harsh given the circumstances.

I have had posts deleted for some pretty benign reasons. What it boils down to is it is their playground, and they get to make the rules and change them at a whim. If you don't like it tough udder, they will continue to delete what they want and moderate what they want regardless of what you want or complain about. Trust me, it has been that way a long time and won't change because you want an answer. Fact of the matter is, you porbably won't even get an answer from the powers that be. Nature of the CA forum.

The information posted was deleted because it is considered privileged and meant for C.A.O. and its retailers only.

I appreciate the explanation.
It was CAO who gave me the information and they never said that it was privileged information. If they had I would not have posted it.
