I heard from someone that NC Cohibas are being taken off the market because of a trademark infringement of the Cuban Cohibas. I heard they will take them off, but will probably return under the brand name Red Dot.

Have you heard anything?

They lost the lawsuit but are in the process of appealing as I hear it. I don't think they are currently in production but there is a lot of surplus out there to be had for people who like overpriced overrated sticks. If they win the appeal though, this will all be moot.

Hard work may pay off eventually but laziness always pays off now.

I've never smoked a Cohiba, what are they like?

I actually have in the bottom of my humidor, and was considering smoking it tonight.

The red dot's pretty much suck. No flavor, just harshness. The XV's are pretty good though and actually a tad cheaper than the red dots.

I've heard that once they're pulled, they'll just be re-branded & then re-introduced into the market. I've had only one of them (and only because it was part of a cigar tasting) & it was pretty decent; reminded me of the standard Partagas line when it was good. Not worth the price tag, though, and the brand just always annoyed me.

Let's face it they wouldn't have existed without the brand name theft. Good to see them go.

I have to agree with Idesign Cohiba sucks and to me are not worth the price.The XV are ok but there are so many other better smokes out there.

So have these been pulled yet? I always hated the NC Cohibas. Overpriced, nasty and just all around bad news.

I am looking forward to these leaving. They are hurting the CC Cohiba name.lol. I hope they dont become "special" because they go out of business.

I don't care what they call them when they reintroduce them, they suck. When you put lipstick on a pig-it's still a pig!

I had a Robusto, it wouldn't be bad for a $5 cigar, but at the $16 i paid at the B&M, it was a ripoff.

Without price being considered, Cohiba red dot is a darn good smoke. I realy enjoy a Cameroon wrapper and the Cohiba red dot has a real flavorfull Cameroon wrapper. I don't care for the black or XV.
It's the price that kills this cigar as other Cameroon wrapped cigars can be had much cheaper. Oliva, Don Carlos, Hemingway and H.Upmann which happens to be my favorite Cameroon.
If you can get them at a good price such as the Native American Reservation I go to, its a real nice deal and a very good smoke.

I am so excited right now. I've said it before: the NC Cohibas are the cigar industry's biggest joke. What crap. What a sad rip off. This is great news.

This cigars crime is definately having the Cohiba label which puts the price through the roof.
If this cigars price came down and was renamed Red Dot Cameroon people would view it diferently.
If you blind taste test this cigar and you are a fan of say Hemingway's or Don Carlos for example, you would love this cigar.
Now some people are not fans of Cameroon so they are going to hate this cigar. But as A cameroon lover I can seperate the name and get them at a decent price so I realy like this cigar.
Again, with the name being Cohiba there is to much pressure on this cigar. I believe the Binder is Dominican and the filler Indonision which makes for a mild smooth and rich smoke.
Now if we are going to call this a joke or overpriced then what is the God of fire? You have an extremely overpriced Cameroon wrapped cigar. The only thing that makes this cigar costly is that Fuente decides to make it in small batches.

The Cohiba line better known as Red Dots aren't going anywhere. General Cigar have won the battle in the Courts and own the trademark in the US.

I was in a restaurant last night, and they had a Humi near the hostess. I looked in, and they were selling hemingways for 8 bucks, and DR Cohiba's from 16-28 bucks. The typed labels under the DR Cohiba's read "Straight from Fidel to you" , I thought wow, thanks to this forum, I am not that nieve any more.

plus I have had a couple DR Cohiba's , the red dots were ok, the blacks were really dissappointing, in both cases way overpriced.
