Have any of you guys heard of Don Diegos? A friend of mine brought two of them back from the Domenican Republic - they look a little ripe, but I smoke oscuro and maduros. If any of you have some insight into these sticks, I'd greatly appreciate it. On an aside, they're in steel tubes.

Yeah, they are decently priced. A little to mild for my taste. But, hey when the owner of your company offers you a cigar. You do not refuse or make any gesture to the choice of his cigars.

I smoked a Playboy by Don Diego the other night. It was absolutly delish. It was a tad over humidifed so smoked very slow, but I had no problems keeping it lit. The last 1/2 of it got really spicy and I actually smoked this one all the way to the end.

Don Diegos have a reputation for being a favorite mild cigar and is often recommended for beginning cigar lovers. And that was when I discovered them, but they have continued to be one I come back to, especially for an everyday smoke. They have proven to be the least expensive I can get my hands on, but they always have plenty of flavor. They don't have to be strong to have flavor. I like 'em.

It's probably harder to find a Don Diego in the DR than it is in the US -- they smoke mostly cut filler fumas there. It's unlikely, but I wouldn't be shocked to find out they were counterfeit -- there have been numerous reports of fake versions high-priced Dominican brands like General Cigar's Cohiba Red Dot and Fuente's Opus X. I wouldn't put it past them to try and fob off fake Don Diegos at tourist traps. In any event, your friend went through a lot of trouble to bring back two rather ordinary cigars.

I had some of the Aniversarios given to me in a gift sampler pack. I had the Churchill, Toro, and Robusto. They were pretty good, I dont think good enough that I would go buy more.

Hey,

I LOVE DON DIEGO. This is my fav cigar. I actually just picked up a box of Robusto's. Very mild, good for s begginer, which I am not, but they make a good smoke anytime.

I would suggest them to anyone looking to get started.

Cheers

I started off with Don Diego cigars. Probably because my grandfather always smoked them and I always saw the boxes around his house. I still enjoy them every once in a while. They are mild, but I can still apperciate a mild cigar sometimes.

They could be fake I guess, but I would doubt it.

Yeah, not likely fakes with Don Diego's as they are not very high demand cigars. Would not be worth the effort.

Hey I just smoked a Don Diego last night. I saw it in a local smoke shop here in Japan. It was a good smoke. Our little cigar group meets in a few. So I'm sure info. will pass around on what they have smoked or found around here. Cool
