New cigar smoker here with my first post to this forum.
After not smoking for 30+ years, I started smoking cigars about a month ago while on vacation and I absolutely love the experience. Nothing like a relaxing smoke after a long day.
Anyway, my lovely wife gave me some choice cigars chosen by the local tobacconist as a first anniversary present. They included the RP Vintage 1990 Robusto which I think is heaven in smoke.
My question is, what other smokes are there out there that are similar. I'd describe the RP as very smooth with no bitter aftertaste and, to me anyway, didn't seem particularly strong. Pardon my ignorance but I searched the forums and haven't found the information I seek.
The RP Vintage 1992 is actually quite similar but with a little less spice.
The CAO Italia, which are described in the cigars mags as spicey, I find not to be as full bodied or as spicey as many say it is
Of the two RP Vintage sticks, 90 and 92, I personally prefer the 90. It seems a bit more complex for my tastes.
You may want to try one of the smaller MAXX cigars by Alec Bradley. I find these to be a pretty nice blend, similar to the CAO Brazilia but not nearly as well constructed. They run about $5 per stick or $89 per box regardless of the size[s].
