I just bought a box/50 of Punch Rothchild maduros. I never really had much experience with punch before but I had to get a few after seeing what they look like with some age. I couldn't believe the tooth on these sticks. It looked like they were sprayed with water, oily and black with a silky feel that slipped through my fingers! In the light it looked like it had been coated with gold sparkles, unbelievable! Anyone have a similar experience with other sticks? I love to aquire these kinds of cigars and would like to know what your experiences have been.

Yes, the connecticut broadleaf and ECSU wrappers have some nice tooth. Indonesian wrappers are incredilby toothy too. I like the flavor when they are well aged.

I've had some maduro LGC's sit for a year or so and they showed incredible tooth. Under magnification they looked like little bone colored lumps poking through dark chocolate wrapper. Mmmmmm!

This is my staple smoke, I must smoke 2-3 of these a day on the norm.
I will get some of the Petas next time around.
The sweet maduro wrappers are incredible, and the finish is unbelievable.

I debated on the M's or the MM's, I only had the M's so I figured I go with those, I'll give the MM's a try.

The punch regular line is good too. They are one of the few "cheapo" cigars I still really enjoy.

For that matter, I can't say much bad about the whole Punch line. I really don't care for the After Dinners, I found the draw too tight, and that stogie is wayyyy too long.
I also tend to favor a 48 or larger ring gauge.

I used to really be into the Londsdale or panetela's, but not I am getting into the bigger gages as well, all the way up to 67, even though thats still a little big. I'm getting into the Trps and Figurados, piramides etc... I still can't seem to shake the petit Corona's though, I think I'll always love those. I'm looking forward to letting those Punch sit a while, at least until they look like they've been dipped in oil. I don't know how much that changes the characteristics of the flav/Body, but it is sure appealing and luering to light up!

AVO Classic Maduro Robusto. Same deal, toothy, nice plume, sparkles in the light, and a fine smoke. Check the AVO thread for more.
