I've been out sick all week and I came in this morning to see what kind of nightmare I'll be dealing with next week, and I found this stick on my desk. A buddy brought it back from Mexico. Looks like it's manufactured by Tobacos Selctos, especially selected by Sr. Jorge Oritz Alvarez in San Andres Tuxtla, Veracruz. At least it's packed in a tube to ensure freshness!

I'm a bit timid letting it co-mingle with my buddies. Should this go in the can?

Peace.

It won't hurt to put it in the humi. It might hurt however to smoke it. It's a Mexican puro, which in my opinion puts it just above cheap, shortfiller machine-mades.

The subject of Mexican tobacco is a love-hate thing. Either you love it or you think it tastes like a manure sandwich.

If you hadn't guessed yet, I am in the latter group. A few cigars succesfully use Mex wrapper or binder, but a "good Mexican puro" is an oxymoron like "military intelligence" or "jumbo shrimp."

Just ask yourself, when was the last time you heard any buzz about a good Mexican cigar? Heck, if Mexican tobacco were any good, we'd all be heading South of the Border on vacation to stock up cheap.

I would either smoke it so that you can formulate your own opinion about Mexican puros (have a drink handy to wash the taste out of your mouth, like turpentine) or pawn it off on an unsuspecting victi...err I mean "friend."

Thanks. Life's to short to smoke a dog rocket. Just making sure I didn't toss the next big thing....which is encased in a beutiful tube for freshness and, as I continue reading, is imported by Tinder Box.

Peace.
