I have seen these prominently displayed at my local shop, but I have never been able to tear myself and my hard-earned stogie money away from my tried and true favorites in order to try a Ghurka. Initially, I was put off by what seemed to be some over the top packaging and dismissed it as lots of show. Who knows the score? Are they for real smokes or lots of marketing?

I just ordered a Gurhka sampler where ya get 8 cigars for 35.00 from Cigar International and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the depth of there flavor. This is a full bodied cigar with strong flavor and conviction. A very intense experience that keeps getting better as ya get to the bottom. I would buy more of these but for they're high prices. Try em you'll like em if you like a bit of power in a cigar. Irv

Not to keep pushing CI, but I do enjoy the Gurkhas, they are pretty tasty, but can be a little expensive. Since they have a few different sticks in their line, I would suggest you buy a sampler.
Personally I like the Regent the best, but I would never have known that unless either I bought a few of each (expensive) or bought the sampler.
I dig the Regents. Expeditions are OK, not great, but OK. Had a Legend last night at it was very good. Better than the Regents, but like other boutique brands, WAY overpriced. Master Selects are great cigars as well. Not all hype with Gurkha, but they tend to be overpriced for what you get.......though I think the Regents are priced pretty fairly.

Smoked one at work once... it was a decent smoke but I personally don't think it's worth the price when you can buy so many smokes at lower prices and are equal or superior to them...

CI has a very good price for the ten pack my regular cigar guy has the 5 pack sampler for 34.99 it might be worth a try.I have a couple in the humi but haven't tried them yet. What's really up with the pre-embargo smokes I am very curious if any one has tried them.

I received one as a gift! A very nice cigar, almost Cuban in character! They are a little on the expensive side, so I have to plan my purchases. I dig 'em! They rock!

I have smoked a couple that I liked, and some that I really didn't like. even after smoking ones I like I never wanted to buy a whole box.

I've also ordered the sampler from CI. Overall impression is that they're a decent med-full bodied smoke. At 3-1/2 bucks a smoke, it wasn't bad. I think I liked the Sherpa the best which may be one of their cheapest lines. I never tried the more expensive lines.
In heaven there ain't no beer, that's why I drink it here.
I have smoked three, and am not impressed. I did not spring for the "pre embargo" ones, so I can not speak to them. I would rather spend my money on Camacho's or Brazilia's.

I've bought that Gurkha sampler also. I really liked the natural wrapped robusto as well as the Sherpa. Those are two really easy smokes. In fact I'm considering picking up a bundle of those Sherpas.
I wasn't overly thrilled with the Master's Select in fact I thought it sucked. The only maduro wrapped Gurkha I like is the Master's Choice, which isn't available in that sampler.
I've had the Regents before and they are good, nice and creamy. I've yet to get into the Expeditions.
I bought a three pack of Louis XIII Platinums for the hell of it, smoked one and now I'm trying to decide what to do with the other two after having to brush my teeth with Comet to get rid of the film it left in my mouth.
I just grabbed 2 Legends from a local shop and I'm anxious to try one. They also had the pre-embargo smokes there for $30 a pop, but I said "no thanks" to those.
Not taking price into consideration they make some really good cigars, but they certainly are overpriced. I think they over do it with the expensive presentaion, IMO.
Also, Kazaid Sansotia has his own separate line of Symphony, Gold and Signiature 101 smokes at CI. Has anyone tried them?

the symphony is a good smooth medium bodied smoke with a lot of flavor. the 101 in my opinion isnt as good, but is still a decent smoke. the legend is one of the best smokes i've ever had. I just wish it werent so pricey
