I was once sitting next to a guy who was smoking these. To me they are overpriced and there are cheaper cigars just as good if not better out there. I agree it better come with a bottle of top shelf scotch and a hooker for the price they want for it.
No help here. Can't bring myself to part with the bucks for anything with Zino Davidoff's name on it after reading his book several years ago. He stated if you didn't keep at least two thousand cigars on hand all the time, you were not a serious cigar smoker. He catered to the ultra wealthy and preferred to sell cigars by the thousand. I understand he is long gone, but have read that the price of these stogies is more related to market positioning than quality.

Thanks everybody. I do remember hearing about how mild these cigars are for the price. Just wish I could try one for myself but I don't have the kind of cash flow to buy them. And I agree that Davidoff is very overpriced...Cuban prices for non-cuban smokes

I went to a launch party for the Barrel when it came out some two, three years ago (?). For the price of admission, I ended up with three cigars, some finger food and drinks. And the opportunity to talk with other cigar smokers. Plus it was the only way I could justify the price of the cigars. Haven't had one since. Anyway, as I recall, all of mine had a very loose draw. Medium strength, creamy, not spicy.

murf247, I recently had a zino sceptre shorty. Same family as the Platinum. It was a 5.0 x 50 sized cigar. Well made, burned well. For such an expensive cigar $9.50 a stick retail, I expected more flavor. I also bought a white label Ashton $10.50 retail in the same approximate size. I found it also to be well made and an even burner but it too was sort of blah on the taste side. I prefer the AVO XO's I have been purchasing over both.

Any cigar that is marketed towards rappers and hip-hop artists will not receive a stay in my humidor. When these jokes first came out they appeared in two JAY-Z videos. I wasn't aware previous to this that JAY-Z had any premium cigar smoking accumen.

They gave these out at the Big Smoke NY in 2005. This is probably the least cigar you can buy for the money -- mild and well made but as Ex MPD says in the above post, it's really aimed at people who want to look like big shots but who would turn green and pass out if they smoked a Cohiba Siglo VI.
Yea I mean I saw that 50 cent video with him holding a box of Esplendido's and JAY-Z with the Opus X and the Zino's. Jay-Z has what a 300 million net worth? Wouldn't any cigar lover with that much cash show boxes and boxes of Davidoff Dom Perignon's or something? I know I would
