I smoke these as an everyday stick and go to a Short Story, AF Sungrown, Padron 2000, on the weekends. I've heard a lot about Flor de Oliva's but have never tried one. What about Mayorga's or others?

Where is Northville Mi? I live in Marion Mi. Mayorgas are decent. I have numerous Master Samplers 4 each of the eight sizes offered. I cant tell the difference between them and The MAria Mancini Cigars. I smoke alot of Connies. It is interesting to note the highly regarded connie #9 maduro burns better for me than most of the hoyo / Punch roths they are seconds of. Drop me a line sometime at rfouch gtlakes com

Flor de Oliva is a Nicaraguan cigar and it burns as perfectly as any cigar in the world!!! The bargain version of FdO's, the Original blend, is a very good smoke and rivals Connies for price!!! Check Rocky's Cigars for the best prices on FdO's! All the FdO line is great, including but not limited to the corojo and maduro line!!!! Best prices I've found are at Rocky's Cigars!

Robert, Northville is on the west side of metro Detroit, 20 minutes east of Ann Arbor and just North of Plymouth. I have not tried the Connie #9 maduro but will see if JR's in Southfield has any. I like to stop there at least once a month.

BTW, I have absolutely nothing bad to say about Consuegra's. Occasional bad construction may make one unsmokable, but I have nothing bad to say about their taste. Others may argue, but they're a great everyday/yard cigar.

Gotta agree with TT all the way on this one. FDO bundles are constructed very well and they are very palatable. The Maduro and corojo bundles are the best. The Occidental and Alec Bradley special blends are also good bundled cigars.

I just started breaking into the next bundle of connies I bought at JR a few months back. So far, the first few have been very good, nice flavor, burn and draw.
Two days ago, I sank my punch cutter into one, and the entire cap came of with it. Since I wasn't paying attention as it happened, it unrolled enough where repair wasn't going to be likely (especially for a $1.xx cigar). Into the garden it goes.

I have bought a few bundles of Connies, mostly as commuting/mooch sticks. I usually get sucked in by the $30 or less price tag at JR's. To tell you the truth though, I prefer Mayorga's and Maria Mancinis for the money. Especially the Mayorga High Octane Line. Consuegras are just not as flavorful and well constructed. A lot of there cigars aren't 2nds as is claimed, but are actually low-end cigars made by the most inexperienced rollers from inferior tobaccos in the first place.
I personally enjoy the Connies while gardening in the morning, you know harvesting my Roma tomatoes, Italian long hots, laosian spine tingelers, fresh basil....hmmm..sound like an Italian summer salad is in the offing tomorrow. Really though Binder your right the Maria Mancinis are nice, I especially enjoy the Magic Mountain Maduros..yummmy

Connies are good. I am smoking a 17 maduro as type this. Nice solid tobacco flavors good draw and oily wrapper. I have encountered a few tightly rolled ones but most of them actually draw on the easy side. I got 3 bundles of 73m from 7/01 that are quite good. The # 25 is also excellent as are the #9 Maduros....... I guess I love connies. she is a cheap girl

Hmmmh, interesting idea. I know I can smoke about 8 cigars in a day. I wonder how many I could smoke before puking? I'd bet that I would fall asleep before it ever came to yakking.
CA won't even rate Connies, so that tells you something right there! I'll gladly smoke half a box of MM's to prove a point.
