Tuperware or a cooler with beads.

Do a search on tuperdor or coolerdor.

A tupperdor (humidor made with a Tupperware) would be a good temporary solution. You will find info if you google.
Or buy some sort of humi-bag at your tobacconist.
Or a plexiglas jar humidor (cheap and effective), that's how I started...
In any event, hurry before your cigars dry out.

I agree with flashman. try a Humi-Bag from your local tobacco shop. I bought one and it holds around 20 cigars. It's held 70% RH for weeks now. I just bought a humidor from tampa humidor and am currently seasoning it.

I haven't tried the tupperdor or coolerdor yet, but I did a lot of research on the idea and it seems to work great. I'd recommend using the litter pearls (kitty litter) with the tupperdor as your humidifier. You can buy a 4lb bag from petfooddirect.com (or any other online pet store) for under 10 bucks.

Definitely search the forum for more info. That's how I started.

Um, if you use a temporary solution for any length of time, by the time you keep replacing the ebads or whatever you use, you could ahve bought a humidor. Many local shops have cheap humidors anywhere from $50-$100. Honestly, if you can't afford the humidor, why you are smoking? I mean, given my usual smoke of a VSG, a cheap humidor is like giving up only 6 sticks. Is that really so hard to do in order to do what is right to get into the hobby?

I used my Humi-Bag until my humidor arrived from Tampa Humidor. The humi-bag will last him long enough so that one of two things will happen:

1. He buys a humidor after really getting into cigars!

2. Decides that cigars aren't for him and only buys them when he knows he'll be smoking them that day. In which case he has no need for a humidor.

But I do agree with you, GoldenEagle, he should get serious about the storage of his cigars.

When I started smoking cigars about 7 years ago, I dabled a couple of years with temporary solutions. So I know it's not easy to make the move towards a decent humidor.
This being said, I've never regretted the 400$ I forked for a real good humidor(we're not even talking Elie Bleu here). I'm sure some affordable humidors are quite dependable too (they may just require a bit more maintenance).
All in all, I agree with PFS. Get out the Visa if you've got to, but get a humidor.

A cigar box and humidor gel things work alright as temp solution but you can definetly get a humidor pretty cheap. I have seen some where its $100 and you get a ashtray, cutter, and humistat.
