Cigars to try, in no particular order:
Fuente Sungrown Montesino Sungrown Torano Silver Torano 1916 Cameroon El Original Maduro and Natural Griffin Fuerte Oliva "O" Bold Natural and Maduro (only had a few, but impressive) Montecristo Afrique Camacho Corojo CAO Brazilia Cuba Aliados Maduro (for when I'm in the mood for that particular flavor profile...unique)
Padrons K series (not usually my thing, but puros are always a good thing to try just to get the flavor of the countries' tobaccos)
One of the spicy General products (LGC, ERH, FdAA)
I also agree with the Acid/Lars thing, just to know why never to consider smoking one again
A good pricey cigar and a bad pricey cigar (again, just to expand horizons and understand what you are or aren't missing)
Also a really crappy cheap cigar to understand that there is also a lower limit to price/quality.

Wow. Tony Maduro, I just saw the composite list that you added to your original post. Very impressive. Nice work. And a lot of work, too. Thanks.
I agree that it might be a bit more helpful if it were narrowed down. But that's even a bigger job. Several somewhat arbitrary de-limiters could be applied, however. For example, include on the list only those cigars that were mentioned by name at least three times (or twice, or whatever). Eliminate the all-inclusive entries like, "anything from Fuente." While it might be true, it's not very helpful for those who might use the list to make purchasing decisions. Eliminate cigars that should be tried only for comparisons sake, that is, because they are so bad. Or, those who contributed to the original list could be asked to pick their specific top three for the ultimate must-try list -- kind of a voting thing.
Anyway, I'm just rambling. Thanks, again for a great thread and the work you put into the list.

This thread became pointless. When everyone lists different cigars as "must try" cigars, does that mean we "must try" all the cigars out there? This is about the same as asking peopleto list their favorite cigars. Some people even listed what appear to be their daily crap cigars on here. To me a must try cigar is one that is better than 90 percent of the stuff out there... not one that is good for the price. In any event.. to each his own I guess.
Don't bother me. EYE am on a permanent vacation.

I would say a 'must try' List like this one should be of cigars that you might not want to spend the money on, but you need to try at least one in your life just to know what it's about. I would say you need to try at least 3, but to each his own. So, I think we are talking about cigars that cost over lets say $8/ stick. My list for those would be. ( lets also leave it to sticks still in production to make it easier) 1. Davidoff Millennium ( My favorite normal production cigar by far) 2. Davidoff Double "R" 3. OpusX 4. Diamond Crown (Both lines) 5. Padron 46 and 26 6. Oliva Master blends 7. Torano Tribute ( I have smoked both the Maduro and the regular line, and they are both great. When the Maduro comes out in sept. I would suggest that everyone try this cigar. The prototype I had was one of the best cigars I ever had.) 8. Ashton VSG 9. Zino Platinum Crown ( the new Barrel shape is my favorite. Don't even waste your time with the scepter series.) 10. Fuente Anejo 11. Jose Seijas signature collection ( this is the blender for Montecrisco. This is his own version of the platinum line, and what a better version it is.) 12. Oneoff ( I am getting more and more into these cigars. Not really sure why, but I like them. Mostly the Marevas size, and don't usually smoke small cigars.) 13. Camacho Corojo 11-18 Perfectos 14. FUENTE DON CARLOS ( one of the only cigars I like from Fuente anymore) 15. Perdomo EDICION DE SILVIO ( it's a must try, but I think I'm going to agree with CI on the review of this one) 16. CAO 65th Anniversary ( if you had these before and didn't like them I can understand, I didn't either. After the RTDA this year the cigar is going to have a different blend, and I'm being told that it's the best cigar CAO has ever put out. I haven't tried this one yet, but I'm sure it will be a must try in a couple months, so keep a look out.) I'm sure there is a couple I forgot, but this is a good start for people that want to try some of the better stuff in life. Of course after this I have a list of the hard to find limited cigars that you would have to raid my humidor to get. Well really you would just have to come over, and smoke one with me. I'm easy like that. ----------------------------- "The cigar...is something that commands respect.
