Most have already been spoken for but I'll throw in my .02 for fun.

Carlos Torano
Exodus Gold & Silver
1916 Cameroon

Arturo Fuente
Hemingway (pick your size)

H.Uppmann
Vinatge Cameroon (a milder cigar, but very creamy and one of my favs. would be a great cigar for a newbie).

I'd say "Honduran Jewel", the (at this time) leading Dog Rocket Contender. After that, you'll *really* appreciate a good cigar, believe-you-me.

Otherwise ...

ACID

I mean ... you just GOTTA try one.

A list of "must try" cigars would have to be broked down by origins and flavors. That way you could experience a little of everything. After countless hours of smoking these would be my picks for things to try.

Mild Connecticut shade - ashton, ashton cab, avo classic,

Medium Connecticut shade - excalibur, la perla blonde

cameroon - hemmingway, torano 1916

broadleaf maduro - LGC serie R maduro, Ashton aged maduro

Brazilian maduro - Torano sig, CAO brazilia

Sungrown - VSG, Cuesta Rey centro fino, AVO signature

Criollo - cubita SMS, torano exodus silver

Corojo - camacho corojo, Punch rare Corojo(although I hear this isn't a real corojo)

H2000 - I wouldn't recommend anything with this wrapper to anyone since I hate it.

Nicaraguan puro - padron, padron anni, padron maduro, padron anni maduro

Honduran puro - punch Gran puro

dominican puro - OPus X

Misc - avo domaine, lfd ligero

Don't bother me. EYE am on a permanent vacation.

Hmmmm...must try?

You must try the...

CAO MX-2 not for the novice though, it really kicks.
CAO Brazilia - Piranha (a delicious small cigar)
Perdomo2 - La Tradiccion - Rosado (give 1/3 burn and it turns complex with secondary flavors)
Padron Anni 1926 (there IS a difference besides $$$)

and

Opus X - I prefer the Robusto (ok, so yeah, $$$$, but you MUST try it, try it in your favorite size after a great meal, you won't be disappointed.) Smile

LoL @ DonSchenck. Btw, I've always wanted to try an ACID cigar. Great addition. This is exactly what I wanted this list to lean towards; Not only the cigars with superb taste, but also cigars that have an "interesting" taste. Both truly fall into the category of a "Must-Try" cigar!

Excellent idea, pmpimbura. Not only have you listed Must-Try cigars, but also WHY you must try them. Wonderful!

Pmpimbura,
thanks for your breakdown by wrapper. It's very helpful. Do you think it's possible to attach a word or two flavor description to each wrapper? (I mean theoretically possible, I'm not asking you to do it).
For example, Nicaraguan = peppery, spicy (or whatever)

I totally agree with the Kouyen on the Montecristo White. I have had a couple Especial No.3's... and they are incredible. So rich and creamy. I love them, especially with a red wine, like Shiraz.

Osnat - to some extent. Some wrappers have more of an impact on the overall flavor of a cigar than others. Some wrappers are prized for their more neutral characteristics.

Davidoff Millenium has to be on the list. Along with the Double "R".

I've had two boxes of the 1964 Padron Anniversario - the Exclusivos and the Torpedos. Both were natural...and I can honestly say that the first few were enjoyable...but after a while, I noticed the taste to plateau (as a lot of DR cigars do) then I just quit non-Cubans altogether.

Got a lot I could add, but the most surprisingly good cigar I've had in the last month or so was the Gispert Churchill. Very well-made for such an inexpensive cigar ($3.50 retail). The Gispert Belicoso is good as well.

Partagas Black Label

Have only tried the Magnifico's, but for roughly 4.50 USD / stick, a must try. Full Bodied, yet very smooth and spicey with plentiful smoke and no burn problems. Fantastic for the price!

some of these have been mentioned and some not, so here goes.

Padron 64 maduros (larger ring size)
Perdomo eddicion silvio
CAO extreme corona
Indian tabac super fuerte torpedo
ashton aged maduro 30 or 50

after experimenting with different brands i've found that i like these the best so far. i've tried a few cubans and these are the closest i've been able to get to taste, strength and flavors.
