Last night I had a Partagas Black label with a good amount of age on it, and I was very disappointed.

This thing burned terribly, had too loose of a draw, and the flavor was seriously lacking. I have 1 more that i'll try, because you can never make a decision on a cigar after just one stick. That was not a good first impression though.

I thought this was a post about your Erectile dysfunction at first SeaHawky when I saw the title. Big Grin Razz Wink All NC Partagas pretty much suck but the Party Black is usually Ok if you give it some age. I dont waste my time on this line any more

I've never had a regular Partagas, but the Black really didn't do it for me.

As far as General goes, i really don't care much for their brands overall either. Punch's are decent though.

I agree...For some reason, I have never enjoyed any of the Partagas I've tried (and I've tried many of them...even the CCs don't do anything for me).....
...different strokes I guess...
Cool

Only time I tried a Part black, it reminded me of a glue stick because of the bad artificial taste.

Not sure what you have been smoking Rbihari, but cc Partagas is very consistent and has a crisp twang to it that is hard to not love. Frown

I pretty much write off everything done by General or Altadis anymore. The only decent, DECENT, smoke I have had from either is the Cohiba XV line. Way too overpriced as they are at or above VSG pricing so guess which ones I usually buy.

I have to agree with most everyone here. The n/c partagas are a disgrace to the name. The spanish rosado tastes like dirt, the black tastes like charcoal and the regular line is 1 dimensional and boring.

Cuban partagas are a different ballgame. Those are the shiznit.

Like I said....different strokes. The CC Partagas are definitely better than the NCs, no comparison......But there are many other CCs that I enjoy more (Montie #2 & #4, Siglios, Mag 46 etc). Just my personal tastes.

Which Black Label sizes were you trying?

I have had only good experiences with the robusto (I think they call it classico) and the Pyramid, with some nice sweet and earthy flavor. Not as strong-bodied as you would expect, but definitely above medium. They must dye them to have such a dark uniform color.

The only one I didn't like had been subject to over-hydration at some point (swelled). A couple of guys trying to keep the larger BL's going had to re-light them every few minutes.
