I just got the e-mail annoucement about this new release from CAO. Apparently it will be their first "pinstripe" wrapper cigar (Conn. maduro and Conn. shade). Sounds interesting. Supposed to be rolled-out at this year's RTDA convention. Anyone have any other info on this?

It seems kind of gimmicky, as if CAO is just playing off the Brazilia and Italia lines. I'll probably try one if my B&M gets them in, but unless it's really good I'll only have the one. Personally I think they should have released the cigar before the 4th, but whatever.

It does seem as if they have alot of leftover tobacco from the Brazilia and Italia lines as the filler is made up of "100% ligero filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Italy, U.S.A., and the Dominican Republic" along with a Brazilian binder.

And yes, releasing before July 4th would have been much smarter from a marketing perspective. All that being said, I'm sure I'll try at least one.

Guess their trying to build on the overwhelming success of the CX2 and Vision. Roll Eyes

Why make good cigars when you can just keep coming up with dumb gimmicks, right?

ill try anything once.. but judging by their past cigars, they will prolly still suck..

MX2 wasnt bad, i didnt mind the Odyssey either, and the soprano wasnt bad... All overpriced except for the MX2..

They need to straighten themselves out

In my opinion the best CAO's are the Anniversary Cameroon and Maduro. Infact I'd have the Maduro #1. I agree that some of the other stuff is just "gimicky". Saying that, I will give the America a try. Never know, it may be good. And I do like the sizes they are releasing them as. All big gauge cigars.

I like some CAO stuff, namely the MX2 and Italia. If I see the America, I'll try it....why not. In a way I find CAO to be like Gurkha. Ok cigars with way to much hype and inflated prices.

Yeah, but Gurkha is even worse.

That is because Torano makes both CAO and Gurkha. Gurkha is worht the price at places like Cigars International where you can find a cheap sampler pack.
