Well I gotta say I'm not a big fan of Rockys but I was very impressed with this smoke. It's starts off very peppery and moves to a good flavorful smoke with hints caramel. Now let's see if they keep a consistant taste I think RP's stuggle with that..... What do you guys think?
I think it's about time he came out with a new smoke, I mean, it's only been three weeks since his last line came out...
Haven't tried it, probably won't. Rocky Patel's cigars have sucked since The Decade, and even with that smoke, it seems only the initial release was good, now they suck.

My local B&M just got those in last week, tried the torpedo and wasn't overly impressed, but I also wasn't disappointed. Decent smoke, might get better after sitting in the humidor for awhile. At least it was consistent.

I'm a fairly new smoker but I found the RP 1990,1992, Cameroon and Sun Grown to be good smokes. I also like the Junior maduros for a quickie. I have seen a lot of different blends of his, and quite a few have been disappointing.
I'll preface my comments by saying, I've NEVER been a big fan of Rocky Patel cigars. The only lines of his I like/liked are the Old World Reserve and the Decade. After smoking both for a while, I get bored with both blends. However, if I smoke each rarely, I enjoy them much more.
That said, I tried the 1961 as part of a sampler I ordered from "Cigar.com", receiving 2 of the Torpedos. Upon smoking the first one, I found it to be nothing special, just a typical Nicaraguan/Honduran/Ecuadoran flavor profile, and then it was not anywhere near as good as Padron/Oliva/DPG cigars. The cigar started off with some nice flavors, then flattened out and turned bland. To summarize, no way would I spend the coin to buy a sampler of just 1961s, much less buying a whole box. JMO !!!
