howdees all -

am looking for a alternative to a Don Carlos..
i get on these jags every once an a while..

for the longest time i was into maduros...
but am kinda liking cameroon again...

likes me some don carlos, but at $9.00 a throw gets a bit pricey...

any suggestions?

I believe he was looking for something CHEAPER than the DC. Had an Anejo about an hour ago though, superb smoke.

The only comparable alternative I can think of is Ashton Heritage Puro Sol, which unfortunately costs about the same as the DC and -- surprise -- is made by Fuente. You could also try any of the Cameroon wrapped cigars in the regular Fuente line, but they're not like DC.

Here are three longshots:

Oliva Serie G, which also has a Cameroon wrapper and has similar body if not flavor. About $3-$5 and a great cigar in its own right.

The now-discontinued Peterson line. About $60 a box at Holt's and very good for the money.

H. Upmann Vintage Cameroon, about $5-$6.
