I am new at smoking cigars compared to you all and don't mind saying I make a decent salary, but can't afford to smoke Padron's three times a day either.
How many cigars do you smoke a day, do you even smoke every day?
I'd say I don't smoke every day just because I am pretty busy and don't work in a smoke friendly environment (who does?).
Are any of you in the same spot? If so what do you smoke when you are in the car, sneaking one before dinner or just in your daily routine.
I really enjoy a premium on the weekends, but for every day use I just can't afford it, ya know?
I smoke about 1 to 3 cigars a week which is fine for me. Right now I am into sampling different cigars so I order sample packs form Holts.com or Superioircigars.com. That way I do not get stuck with too much of one cigar in my humidor. I usually smoke after a meal or while watering the lawn, and I am fortunate enough to work outdoors so I can smoke at work although i have to be careful because I work with natural gas. Later

I smoke several cigars a day....my daily cigar is the GR Special....bout 2 each. Then I treat myself to a better cigar on weekends on nights of a herf. I like the La Aurora Cien Anos, 1495, Preferidos (Cameroon #3) Cubana Limitada from Fonseca and a bunch of others.
3 cigars a day is a lot to me. I can see how it can get a little pricey. I don't have a daily cigar but I have found a few cigars to be really good at a great price. You can get them cheap online when you buy by the box/bundle.
Sancho Panza Double Maduro Punch Rothschild Maduro Oliva Serie G... I prefer the Cameroon
I just like cigars, is that ok?

usually 1 a day during the week and a couple a day on the weekends.
"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points." -Don Pepin Garcia

I smoke 0 to 3 a day (depending on the day). I haven't found my "go to smoke" but I have found a few I smoke more often than not:
Rocky Patel "OSG" Petit Corona Rocky Patel "The Edge" Missile 5 Vegas "A" Archtype or Anomoly
Those three I have actually bought boxes of, or in the case of the OSG, "mazos".
I am still trying a lot of different cigars to find what I like. I have 3 humidors, a 20count with the ones I have yet to test, A large for the box bought and a medium for the sampler packs.
I keep a journal, and log/rate the cigars that I try. That way when I go to the local shop to get recommendations, and the sales/tabacco dude asks "what do you like", I hand him the book, and he can make recommendations from it.
This is a good way for me to keep track of what I like, and what I think sucks, and provides some of my friends/co-workers some comedy when reading (half the time I write the reviews/thoughts in the journal, I've had a couple). Each cigar gets its own page (both sides). I put the band in there, cost, how long in the humidor, prelight and post light descriptions, tastes and whether it is a good smoke, a repeat buy, dog rocket (I love this saying), or absolute pile of crap. If it's a pile of crap, I give it another chance a few months later.
To each his/her own though, ya know?

I know of a sale going on so you can smoke Padrons 3 times a day...just found it earlier...am I allowed to name drop a B&M here or is that bad form? $2.80 single/$72.50 box of Padron 3000's for example...good through Friday.
If people feel it's ok, I'll post the vendor's name...if that's bad, oh well, I tried.

Well, Jack Schwartz in Chicago is running their Friday Special...good through 7/13 (they usually last until monday, though) with some good deals on Padron and Padron maduro...all sizes.
I'm not affiliated with the shop, and I've never lived in Chicago, but they're my go-to shop for smokes, supplies, advice, pretty much everything. They've never let me down and I feel comfortable doing business cause I've set foot in the door and met the people.
Sorry if I broke any rules by dropping a B&M name. Hope find the prices right...

I've been smoking around 3 to 4 cigars a week. Don't really have a go-to smoke yet. Most of what I have are samples and singles that I've purchased to try lots of sticks out. I've purchased a box each of Cien Anos and Perdomo Lot 23.
Cheers!

The vintage 90 is one of my favorites in rotation right now and alos like his sun growns.
Mowee: whats a "GR special?"
I like them alot. I get the petit corona size, good smoke for knocking back a few. I find myself going to them when I can't decide on what else to smoke.
I like the vintage 1990, and bought a 5 pack of petits.

I have tried a bundle of the seconds. Many are quite close to the firsts, but some have some harshness. They tend to hit you in the back of the throat. Maybe letting them age for a few months in the humi would help. I didn't have a humi big enough at the time to do that.
Originally posted by Cool Breeze: Im going to have to try those next, did you get them from CI? It seems per their site that they're exclusive to them.
Also if you like the 90's try the seconds. I couldnt tell any difference in smoke quality between paying $3 and $8 a stick...great deal!
I've only ordered them from CI, but I have seen them elsewhere, as I recall, the were a little bit pricier on the other site.
I have thought about the seconds, however, I want to try all the firsts before I hit the seconds, ya know?

Thanks for the tip! I ordered a box of 3000's for 72.5 and some other sizes in smaller quantities. Would have ordered even more at these incredible (for Padron) prices, except had just placed an order the day before for Partagas PSD4s.
