I got introduce to cigars by my cousin last month and now I am hook. I have tried several different cigars and I am ready to have my own himidor. What cigars I should buy? I want some daily and I want to save some more special ones for later. My budget to start is about $300 and I live in Tampa.
i think minalpharetta put it pretty much very clearly....
you can also try some online retailers and order some samplers... they will allow you to buy a bunch of different singles, and experiement with them... if you search the forum, you'll find a bunch of online places that have pre-defined samplers to choose from.. usually sorted by strength, size, wrapper, etc...
it is the way most people find their way in the cigar world...
since you're new to this, try and stick with the lighter smokes (claro wrappers) and steer away from the maduros for the beginning...
DO NOT try any flavoured cigars..
try and stick with cigars no bigger than a 50 ring gage, and no longer than 5"

I agree with this comment the most. For a starter, you don't want anything that gives you burn problems, which is more common on bigger cigars. I've only tried one 60-ringer, and it was possibly the worst burn ever seen by mankind.
Keep the smoke short and enjoyable as a starter. Stick to cigars that take no more than 30-60 minutes to smoke like a robusto. Beginners tend to lose interest in a cigar faster since their palettes are not as developed to taste all the flavors.
Ben, try the flor de oliva maduro, I suggest this cigar to starters and long time smokers. Great cigar, good price, consistant draw, and always a perfect burn.
Ive only been smoking for 2 months and already built 3 humidors

What Sheepshead said. I took his advice last month and have been hooked on TS ever since. Wish I would have found it sooner. They should have their rare stuff in next month if you want to get some. As far as a good daily/cheap smoke I love the Padron 3000 Maduro. My favorite is Padron Anny. Imperial Mad but that will set you back $14 a stick.
Yep, the best place to go is to your local shop. Ask the sales people tons of questions. Then proceed to blow that $300 on a bunch of different cigars. Try as many different ones as you can.

I concur
"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points." -Don Pepin Garcia

Famous Smoke Shop is still offering a pretty good (& cheap) introductory sampler. Go to this link then look for the 'Taste the Good Life ... just $19.95" ad and click on it.
Send me an email (my email addy is in my profile). I'm going to make things real easy for you to start your collection and save you some money in the process. My Humi is full and I need to clear some out faster than I can smoke them.

Response: "Get a $20 bill to taste like a Davidoff and I'll light my entire paycheck on fire!"
