I saw some cigars at my local Costco and was wondering if anyone here has tried them. The name on the cigar is La Finca and the price is about $25 for 20 cigars IIRC.

I got a box of these about two years ago...horrible. I used to smoke these as filler up until then and they ranged from OK to half-decent. $25 a box sounds like a steal -- the MSRP on these per stick averages about $2 so depending on the size, $25 may be cheaper than JR. For that price, worth a try.
I have ordered La Finca Robusto Maduros from Jr's. They are a great cigar for the price. To me flavor is number one. The flavor on the maduros was always real nice. The construction, well that's another story. I would get a lot of canoeing. To me if it canoes, well yeah it sucks. More importantly however, does it taste good. I highly reccomend them. For the price they are hard to beat.

Sorry, let me clarify. When I say flavor is number one. I mean I consider flavor to be the most important factor in judging a cigar. not that La Finca's flavor is number one. I mean I love if the construction is good. I love the aesthetic beauty of an oily wrapper, but I want them to taste good. "For the money," these are hard to beat. The flavor "For the money" is very solid. Try them, I think you'll like them.

These are what I started with. Then last weekend I bought a 8pk sampler of Maria Mancini's Majic Mountains. They are really nice. I think I'll stick with them for now.
The La Finca's are real good for the price but as noted earlier the canoe problem is quite evident. Still though they are listed as the number one smoke in Nicaragua. 25 smokes for $30.00 is a pretty good deal. Costco is a good place to save money while getting some good smokes.
My neighborhood smoke shop charges $4.00 a pop on the La Finca's. So balance the cost / taste/ quality and you are starting out with a fairly decent stick. I am going to try something else next time I'm at Costco.
A few years ago Costco here in New York had a couple of pallets of Montecristos. They were sitting on the warehouse floor for several days in the winter, unhumidified.
They were cheap and I bought 2 boxes. They were all dried out when I got them home.

I was going to wonder the same thing as Doc mentioned. I saw the same at my Costco but they were sitting on the floor, shrink wrapped but not humidified. I bought some Maria Mancini's. 20 for $25. They were all right but improved after two weeks in the humidor.
What is the verdict on the Montecristo's?
