My friend, hand rolled cigars, what technology do you need for that??

CCs are one of a kind. They are in high demand like padrons. Padrons are in high demand because in the US there are only a handful of brands that are good out of hundreds and are legal.

It is your opinion that premium Padrons are not as good as Cuban cigars (in general). Which I find ridiculous. How can you compare one NC to a whole genre of cigars?

No one in there right mind would attempt to compare a Non Cuban to A Cuban Cigar. Its like comparing a motorcycle to a bicycle. Quite frankly i find it ridiculous and amusing that you read the post and thats what you got out of it.I merely stated the difference between the two and simply noted i don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Agreed Sheep...I wonder why they are one of the most sought after items in the entire world...Not just in the States and not just because of the embargo and the forbidden fruit factor...It's gotta be the soil! Nowhere else in the world, even in the same region with the same growing conditions can a finer soil be found for growing tobacco than cuba, period...

Smoke em if you got em

A low end Dog Rocket just like La piedra's and Quintero's.
You can not pay for hamburger and expect to get steak.
They are referred to in Europe as poor mans cigars.

I read with great amusement the commentary of those (such as recent posters to this thread) who tout the unrivalled superiority of Cuban cigars. It seems to me that they are much too sensitive when it comes to this topic.

I too once extolled the superiority of CCs. In fact my first cigar, the one that started this great hobby for me, was a Cuban R&J given to me as a gift. However I have since become a very experienced, and highly objective and analytical smoker. I have found that with time the mystique of CCs has faded for me, and I am no longer as impressed with them as I once was.

Yes, Cuba still produces more great cigars than any other country. But the gap between Cuba and other countries, particularly Nicaragua, is closing quickly. The continued experimentation of NC producers with various organic fertilizers and hybridization should produce really interesting and flavorful results in the coming years.

There will always be those who prefer the Cuban flavor profile. But for me there are several premium NCs (such as the top of the line Fuentes, the Padron anniversarys, and a few others) that I enjoy as much as any Cuban cigar.
