... by a guy formerly from Oliva. Sounds quite exciting. It would be interesting to see in 1.5 months whether the theory lives up to the reality and expectations.
I think we should all just wish him good luck.

I predict that we'll see these cigars explode within the rap community. "Smokin' my Nubz" will be a popular phrase in at least fifteen hardcore tracks.
Also, lots of facial damage as the HUGE burn footprint ingites the air around any smokers who get overly zealous.

"Only the sweet spot..." This doesn't make any sense. The reason a "nub" smokes like it does is because it's already been smoked down x number of inches. Nonsense, sheer nonsense.

Wow... what an animosity towards something that has never been tried by anybody. I can understand the negative attitude to the hype, an attempt to create which is clearly visible in this case. I know there have been new launches by some companies with lots of hype not worth it, but then there were some that were worth it. And also, you know, last time I checked, it was called marketing...
Anyway, I'm sure I want to try it, just because it's new and I like to check out the new stuff. Only then I usually decide if I like it or not (that's why I'm still longing for a CAO Vision but with a condition that it won't cost me an arm and a leg).
After all, if Oliva is involved, it can't be too bad. Maybe it can, but I want to know that first hand.

I like some of the new gimmicks that come out. If anything it serves as good topics of discussion even if they completely flame out. Hey VO, like you I've been dying to try at least one Vision before i heap tons of scorn on it. I finally got one the other day and letting rest for a bit before adding my thoughts to EC's thread. Let me tell you, dropping $14 for a cigar was mighty difficult. I coulda bought a RP Decade, Tats, a couple of Olvias with that money.

signalhill, I honestly would've paid $14 once to satisfy my curiosity - but they were offering it for at least twice the price (if I remember correctly) the only time I encountered that blue laptop at a cigar event. Since then I haven't seen them here.
As for the Nubs, I'm very certain I'll try at least one or two - I even already have a "scheme" how to get them (you know, here it's difficult to get some NCs, especially new releases). That's of course if they're not too overpriced.

I'm not in America often so I doubt I'll ever get to try the nubs or vision, I shan't pass judgement on them.
BUT I will rail against it because I really dislike the way new cigars are tending toward bigger ring gauges. Especially when it means many of my preferred 42 gauge smokes (eg. so many cuabn lonsdales) are being discontinued.

I couldn't have said it better myself.
I hope the NC market enjoys all the baseball bat and hot pepper shaped sticks they get, along with these new "nubz".
You guys can keep the gimmicks, I'll take flavor, thanks.

Gimmick and fad cigars aside, I just can't stand holding and puffing on a 60+ RG cigar. It's just too damn big, I guess my fingers and mouth get tired too easy.

Exactly. Gimmick or not, you can't know if it's good until tried one. I mentioned in another thread - I'd gladly light up a purple colored cigar if it tastes good. Even though I am more a CC fan, I do like variety.
Smartman has a point though about RG. But then they are just 4" long.

Interestingly these "Nubs" things are like the exact opposite of a Lancero, and I'l bet they hold about the same amount of tobacco.
