I would like to hear how others feel about Ashton's "San Cristobal" cigars. I've only had two, but I am very impressed.

Very nice! I like what Ashton did with Pepin.

I usually smoke the Momento, but the entire line is excellent.

Definitely at the top of my list of NCs...

I've found that you can't go wrong with anything from either Padron or Pepin...

I think they have a very similar taste profile as the 5 Vegas Miami.

I must of gotten a bad stick. I didnt like mine. It was a tough draw and not a good taste. I suppose it is possible to let them rest and they will get better with age. But as of now I wouldnt buy another.

Smoke'em if you got'em.

I've enjoyed the Fabulous and the Majestro, both we're superb and outstanding smokes. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I just finished one and have the same point of view. Cigar looked great, burned like crap, and the taste was okay at best. For $10 I'll just get a PAM.

I won a box of the Guajiro in a charity poker tournament. These are a corona gorda. Beautiful presentation box, good looking pigtail cap.. I opened the box and shared a few with my fellow poker players, four to be exact. We all had the same experience, completely unsmokeable. The cigar was very difficult to light and the roll was so tight you could not draw any smoke at all. The B&M that donated them to the tournament told me to put them in my humi for a week or so. I did just that, two weeks later still unsmokeable. They took them back and gave me a box of the Clasico which is a robusto. These were kick ass right out of the box, no problems with the draw, very complex and chewy smoke. Not for the beginner. I love em. Don't know if Ashton had problems with all Guajiro's or just a few boxes but I will keep buying the Classico, excellent cigar.

I have probably smoked 15 San Cristobals of various sizes. I smoked just 1 Guarjiro and my notes say it did have some burn and draw issues. Ovearll the other sizes did not appear to have similiar issues. For this wrapper I would suggest at least 1 day of dry store outside of the humi before smoking.

I have smoked alot of San Cristobals, all sizes and have noticed that they smoke better at lower humidity levels. I like the Classico and one of my B&M's keeps his walk-in humidor at a little higher humidity than others. When I buy one from there and try to smoke it on the way home, it gets a really bad burn and poor draw. I dry box them a day or so to dry them out a little.

Ditto.
My B&M keeps them to high also. After sitting at least a month at 67% in my humi these are fantastic. I tend to think most cigars smoke better under 70% but I am convinced that it is true with all Pepin's lines.
I find that true also with all Nicaraguan tobacco as I do with CC's.
JMHO.

I bought a box of Monumentos from NHCigars on extreme discount. The first few were barely smokable due to draw issues.

Once I reduced the humidity in my humidor to 65-67% they opened beautifully. I will still have the occasional poor draw, but the flavor is exceptional. I thoroughly enjoyed these and am sad to say I only have a couple left

I will most likely purchase a 5 pack of the Fabuloso and Classico as I find the Beli/Torpedo shape and Robusto shape usually draw better. I'll bring the humidity down and hope they have the same flavor. Very enjoyable.

I have had both the classico and guajiro. All the samples I have had smoked very well with no burn or construction issues at 67%. While both had great flavour, the guajiro really excelled after the 1/3 mark with alternating flavours of cherry, coffee and a little spice. I am buying as many as humanly possible to set aside and see what happens after 8 months.
