Strolling through the Forum Shops at Caesar's here in Vegas yesterday looking for a summer job, something strange caught my eye. It was a giant red X, very similar in fact to the X found on the Opus X band. As I walked closer to the store it was above I read the words 'Casa Fuente'. How I did not know of this place sooner is a mystery, but I'm glad I found it....that is until I tried to enter the store.

I figured once I turned 18 I shouldn't have any problems trying to buy cigars. I walked into the store, which wasn't a store, but more of a lounge with a large humidor in back, and was quickly asked for my ID. I whipped it out like usual, and was promptly turned away. Apparently you have to be 21 to enter 'Casa Fuente', and my being 20 (21 in October) kept me from perusing their large selection of Opus X that I could see form the door.

I told the door man that I planned on making a large purchase, and it would do the store well to let me in, but to no avail. It's probably for the better though as I'm sure the selection was incredibly overpriced, it is after all, the Strip.

If you happen to be in Vegas go check it out, I'm sure you guys will have some fun in there. It's in the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace, right on the Strip.

but you do find some older Opus X's in there..

it's definitely worth it, but you'll have to fork out some serious cash

Casa Fuente has been talked about many times on these forums. Great place to go to enjoy their house brand cigar, Casa Fuente, as well as Anejos, Opus X, Forbidden Xs, Ashton VSG and ESGs and well, anything else that is Fuente and Ashton. It might be 21 or over because there is a bar inside and they serve alcoholic drinks. I suggest going again when you turn 21, grab a Casa Fuente and a mojito and relax a bit before you hit the clubs. I will be going this weekend. Smile

As I have said before on this forum, I think the Casa Fuente torpedo is the best cigar Fuente makes. It combines the best cameroon wrapper used on their God of Fire with a complex filler and binder. The result is fantastic flavor -- a hint of sweetness like the God of Fire or Don Carlos combined with the complexity, but not the spice, of an Opus X. Unfortunately you cannot buy this cigar anywhere but at the Casa Fuente, they will not ship it to you, and they offer no discount when you buy a box. My Cuban cigar smoking buddies from the Caribbean are nuts about this cigar and I always have to pick up a box for them (not cheap at $650/box) when I visit Vegas.

The other cigars at the Casa Fuente are overpriced, no doubt. The Casa Fuente clearly has a very high overhead, thus the high prices. However you may want to bite the bullet and also buy one or two of Fuente's super pricey top of the line Forbidden X cigars (another great but very powerful smoke) when you visit the Casa because it's very hard to find these anywhere else.

Yup, definitely expensive, but a place every BOTL should visit if in town. Their Casa Fuentes are only offered in the Las Vegas store (well, not counting ones being sold online), so definitely pick some up when you go!

Incredibly overpriced is correct. I paid $40 for a cigar that I got for $14 last night. Well worth it for the experience, tho.

PS- When you're 21, have a Mojito!

I went three years ago and boudght a few Casa Fuente's because everything was way overpriced. I paid, I think, $22 bucks a stick, but I didn't mind because you can't find these anywhere else. I still haven't smoked them. I am just waiting for the right time.
