I should have been slapped for getting this sherpa. The cigar, to me, tastes like a hayloft covered in manure. This cigar is not only mild but suffers from no personality. Those of you who are masochistic need look no further. OHHH Don!!! This is even a cigar that TT would reject [I think] I wonder why Hansotia would even claim responsibility for such a product. can't imagine!

You'd have to dig a lot deeper in the craphole to turn off TT.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. Stogie! I bought two 5 packs at CI, the ring is kinda orange or peach colored and says 2002 on it. I tried the robusto and torpedo. They are really a bad and boring cigar. I kinda know what you like from reading your threads here and I don't believe this is it. I would send you a couple or all of them and you could try em. Who knows , maybe my taste buds are shot. It's not harsh just lacks flavor ,tastes kinda empty, if ya know what I mean. Irv

I totally agree with you, i just had a Sherpa the other week (from CI as well) and it tasted like i mistakenly picked up and smoked a dog turd. To be honest, I'm not sure i have liked anyhting from Hansotia, although i do have a Gurkha Legend waiting in the humi that i'm curious to smoke.

I hope I can keep Stogie as a friend after he smokes that Sherpa. AHHH he'll forgive me! Right. Ok Stogie it's shipped, keep on eye out.

Last night, after a fine supper of terrayaki wings and raw fries (crispy), I had just enough time to sample the Sherpa speciman that you so thoughfully sent me. It appeared in fine condition; cut nicely and at start up burn it lit properly. Believe it or not, for the first 5 minutes the taste was not bad; a little too mild for my general tastes, but nonetheless a mild smoke.
Then, almost on cue after about 5 minutes it became harsh. Oh, I kept smoking it as I am not one to give up on a cigar too fast, but it did not get any better! The bitterness was too predominent.
It would appear that your previous comments were accurate; the Sherpa is not a very good cigar, IMHO.
OH, thanks for the two tag-a-longs that you sent with it. I expect them to be much better!
On a 10 point TT scale, the Sherpa receives a 3.

Hi TT, yes those tag alongs should be much better. Well I see that you have now experienced the sherpa and that you'll never be the same again. Cigar International has the best prices on samplers and sells some great premium cigars, but the Sherpa aint one of em. I cannot say that the Sherpa is the worst cigar I have ever had,no that would be untrue, but not at all to the level that one would expect from Hansotia "or however you spell his name". So I had my one night stand with this cigar and now it's off to the next one. Irv

I like the Sherpas
I think all this Sherpa bashing is only because the cigar isn't named Montecristo or RYJ

That is ridiculous. Montecristo and RyJ suck too. Talk bad about Torano and we might have words. Anyway, since when were a bunch of guys who trade bundled cigars worried about what the band says? Seems to me they gave sherpa a fair shake and found it lacking. Thanks for sparing my tastebuds the aggravation. I'll pass on the sherpa.
Hard work may pay off eventually but laziness always pays off now.
Tell it like it is Pmpinbura. We must try to save each other from the wicked cigars that are out here waiting to ruin our day. We are happy we can save you from the likes of a Sherpa. I sent Stogie my last ones and hav'nt heard from him since. I hope he did'nt get sick or is coming up here to get some revenge. If I had anymore I'd send ya one but thanks G-d they are gone. LOL Irv

I got one for ya PMP! I'll send it out to ya. I finally smoked the sherpa after about a 12 pack or more of silver bullets and playing some horseshoes. It didnt kill me! And I'm not gonna come get revenge either Irv. It was a very mild cigar and wasnt all that, the intoxication helped pull me through the experience. That FDO Corojo was nice though, wish I had another. Gonna have to order some of these. Thanks Irv

Hey Stogie! those crojos are nice. The Sherpa was mostly a boring cigar. The kind ya smoke and than ask yourself, "Why am I wasting my time with this when there is so many other good ones out there". At least I sent you a couple of others that I thought you'd enjoy. Rock on! Irv

I think they use 100% Sherpa in their sherpa cigars. I was stupid enough to buy a bundle for $25 at CI and I hated them. I tried a couple, figured I'd let them sit, tried them again a year later and then gave 'em away to mooches. You know what, now that I think about it, since I did that I haven't been mooched off so often. In fact, I wonder if any of those guys are still alive?
Then watch this... http://projectboil.pixel10.co.uk/posting/Posting.html Thanx to Oscuro XX for posting this link... ----------------------------- "Un día sin los puros es como un día sin el sol." "A day without cigars is like a day without sun."

I love gurkha cigars, but the sherpa sucked! I bought a bundle, and ended up giving the rest away. the one I tried tasted like grass, and the wrapper came apart at the tip. I can't believe Hansotia would make a cigar like that. it's definitely their worst.
