I've been experimenting with all the cigars I can get my hands on lately...smoked some pretty nasty sticks as well as some really incredible ones. Maybe it's just the mood, atmosphere or something, but the Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente I just finished a few minutes ago was a really nice smoke!

I just had some time to kill while my daughter went to band practice, so I grabbed this short stick (4 1/2 x 50) out of my humidor and went out on the porch with a beer. I had just bought a sampler pack of Fuentes and this was one of them. I thought it would be a nice quick little smoke while I waited for band practice to get over. Well, it turned out to be an incredibly pleasant smoke and, for 4 1/2 inches, it somehow lasted about an hour and three beers! I'm quite impressed! At around $87 for a box of 20, I think I'll be placing an order tomorrow.

this is docberry's AM cigar. they are very steady. Try the sungrown version.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

just found them for $78 per box!....now you've got me wondering if I might like the sungrown even better! I know the Fuente sungrown exquisito I had with coffee last week was a tasty little treat, so maybe I better order a 5 pack of natural and a 5er of sungrown and see what I prefer before I start buying by the box. Thanks for the heads-up on the availabilty of sungrown.

The Double Chateau Fuente Sungrown is awesome.

It packs a pleasant punch, ages great and is much easier on the wallet than Ashton and Oliva Sungrown smokes. Although I've been seeing Oliva's dropping in price.

Some people may cry blasphemy and say I know nothing of cigars...but I think the Double Chateau Sungrown gives the Ashton VSG and Oliva Serie V a run for their money. Especially if price is an issue.

However, in a perfect world, my humi would have 3 boxes of VSG Belicoso's and Serie V Double Robusto's...

I'll second the Sungrown Double Chateau Fuente.

People knock Fuente for Opus prices, but their regular line -- including the sungrown Chateaus and Cuban Belis -- are priced very fairly.

MSRP on opus isn't actually that bad. they are pretty reasonable. The thing is people jack up opus prices so bad its ridiculous. i wish fuente would take steps to prevent this...

Jack Scwartz will be selling these, they are doing pre orders. prices are actually right on mark with other opus cigars online...

The retailer markup is what I meant, and I think Fuente encourages it. Hell, they mark up their own sticks a few hundred percent at Case Fuente, which they own! But it's great for B&M retailers.

The regular Chateau to me is a pretty bland stick. The sungrown has a little more oomph, and is good with morning coffee once in a while.

Years ago I used to smoke Fuente cigars......
A LOT !! And the Chateau Fuente was one of my go to morning/midday smokes. You can't beat the quality and the mild flavor when you want that type of cigar. It's been a long time since I've had one and I second the Sungrown version as well. I just might have to pick up a few of both to try again.
