has anyone tried these (see ad to the right)?

I bought some at a cigar dinner and watched them being rolled. trued one but it was way too young, needed to sit in the humidor for a month or so.

I see on their website the family owns a motel in Westerly, RI and are building a cigar lounge there.

I'll give feedback when I try the cigars.

Are they the ones with the print ads that always has a middle aged guy with two very bimbo looking blondes hanging onto him?

If so, then seeing the print ad made me want to never try one. Poor taste.

My sentiments exactly. Seems like one big ego trip for some douchebag. Of course, that doesn't mean the cigars can't be good, but it definitely tips the odds in favor of them being junk.

Think about it: General Cigar has all the resources in the world and the best they can come up with for $25 is Partagas 160. Now, some guy with zero experience subcontracts some little factory in the DR (who buys their leaf from god knows where) to make a "prestige" cigar bearing his name?

Sounds like 1998 all over again.

I'm glad the tackiness of their ads is being discussed. As someone in advertising who was seen far more bad crap than anyone rightly should, I want to say that these are some of the worst of all time, even among notoriously bad cigar ads.

Just when I got sick of seeing the Fuentes burying their grinning mugs in bales of tobacco leaves, these came along.

What's funny is not just that the guy featured in them is such a tool - scrawny, unattractive, "I can't believe this is happening to me but I'mm trying to play it cool" grin - but that the whole set up is so tacky. It's like some idiot's idea of what "the good life" would be: cheap sparkling wine in a bathtub with two stiff, used-up call girls perched next to him. The dude's even wearing a wedding ring.

"Try our cigars: they taste like a budget weekend in Reno!"

Now I feel like a jerk, I never noticed the bimbo, just the "barber pole" wrapping.

They did send a lovely trocadora to make the cigars at a recent event I went to. I suppose the fact they had a pretty girl and not a 70 yr old cuban should have told me something.

The guy in the ad oddly reminds me of the guy in the Enzyte ads, with the horrible grin and such.

I forgot about the Enzyte Commercial.

Apparantly there are three Araganese Girls.
