Just wondering if anybody has been there, and if you can buy cigars there. I only live about an hour away, and thought it might me nice to visit, and to pick up a few smokes.
I read the article in this month's mag. that said they were moving into a larger building there in Miami. Maybe they need some help moving. Will work for Cigars!!!
Yep, several of us were trapped in Miami for 2 days due to the airports closing for snow and ice Ja. 26 & 27. We went over to their office in Little Havana. Jorge and his dad were both there that day. They were very gracious hosts. We spent 2 hours touring the new spaces they are building. They gave us the royal treatment sharing cigars and Cuban coffee that Jorge's great aunt made for us. The new facilities will really streamline their operation and it's beautiful. Handmade Nicuraguan tile floors, all the interior doors are engraved with the Padron 1964 / 1926 logos. All the furniture is hand made from cedar, by them. As a matter of fact Jorge and his dad had just returned from the hospital after having a splinter removed from his dads hand he got while building some shelving. We took tons of pictures. They posed with us very patiently while 8 cameras took every pose . You can buy cigars there, and we did. Boy did we ever. They were also kind enough to autograph every box we bought and to wrap them in shrink wrap for the journy home. As we were leaving we asked for a good local restaurant recommendation. Not only did they recommend somewhere, but Jorge called our order in for us. When we went to the restaurant and got our 7 large cuban subs the owner informed us that it was paid for by the Padrons !!!!!. I highly recommend you go by there. The Padrons may not be able to spend the same kind of time with you as they did with us, we hit it lucky, but I bet they will be glad you came by. At no time did we feel we were imposing on them, and we asked a gazillion questions, that they answered completely. A very gracious family, sincere, humble, and proud of what they have accomplished. As they should be, they make some of the finest cigars in the world.

That is something I would love to do. How were there prices on cigars there?
----------------------------- "The cigar...is something that commands respect. It is made for all the senses, for all the pleasures, for the nose, the palate, the fingers, the eyes... A good cigar contains the promise of a totally pleasurable experience."
I went to the factory last summer, not as lucky as some to see the padron's themselves. I got a box of 1964 torpedos, and all there prices are full msrp.
I will get a chance to post some pictures. It will probably be done through our cigar club's web site since I used a dispoable camera. 3 of the other guys used digital. We meet again 2/21 so I'll find out if they have been posted and I'll let you know. Our web site is still under construction at this time. The Padron warehouse was still under construction so the pictures are of empty rooms and unfinished walls. Hey Espowari, where in Charlotte? Our cigar club meets at the Tinderbox Southpark. email me substaionii@comporium.net
