Found one of these today while looking through the humi. Got me to thinking...Where the hell did this thing come from? After about 10 mins it finally hit me. I was driving back to michigan last thanksgiving from my original home(Nebraska) and I stopped at a little shop I knew in Iowa. Well I had completely forgotten that I even had it and I was a little aprehensive about trying it after some of the reviews on this site.
Well I tried it during the playoffs today and I thought this thing was great! It burned great, tasted great, and I can honestly say that this has been one of the most pleasant surprises that I've had in a cigar in quite a while. This cigar was simply fabulous I loved it. I only wish I had more cause I haven't seen them at any of my local shops and most online places I frequent are out of stock .

Glad you liked it megalomaniac. The MX2 has proven to be one the few smokes in 2004 that I deemed worthy of keeping my humidors. I keep a small supply of these now along with my humi full of Brazilias. I love the deep rich flavor they have and it only gets better with a little aging.

They are one of my favorite CAO's. I have never had a bad one, despite what everyone else says on the forums. I pick a few of them up everytime my local shop gets a box in. They sure dont stay on the shelf for very long though, so i am always happy when i can get my hands on a few.
I picked one of these up on my last business trip and have had it sitting in the humi since. Looking forward to smoking it. Had never seen it until my trip.

Hmmm . . . I have to admit that I just haven't seemed to find a CAO that I liked yet, except one. I'm open, but no luck so far. I really had high hopes for the MX2, but it wasn't pleasant for me at all. I also tried the Brazilia, twice, but it didn't work for me. I will give the MX2 another shot some day . . . hate to make a judgment based on only one stick. But I am afraid my days with a Brazilia are over.
I did reasonably enjoy the L'Anniversaire Maduro. That was good, and I have smoked it a few times now.
I suppose I would still favor the Cohiba XV, however. When I am in the mood for a smoke similar to the MX2, the Cohiba XV has never ever failed me. And I buy them by the box.

As I posted in another MX2 thread... I really like the flavor, but cannot stand the miserable (tight) draw on these sticks.
I wonder if CAO has worked out the issues where one can actually produce some smoke with turning his mouth inside out. That would be great because I did happen across one that had a manageable draw and I enjoyed it.
Hmmm. Might have to give this one another shot...

I'm glad to see all the good reviews of this cigar. I'm relatively new to cigars. I usually smoke Havatampa Jewel Sweets.. (Yeah I know but it's what I started with. I decided I wanted a "REAL" Cigar. The local Tobacco shop suggested the MX2. I'm still learning about cigars, but I'll try this one later today.. I think it may have been a good choice. Given what I usually smoke and being a newbie..anybody else got suggestions?

Definitely try them both. The MX2 and the Brazilia are probably two of the best cigars CAO makes. Good value, good flavor and broad appeal. I like the MX2 torp the best but it has been a little inconsistent. I remember one that was so plugged that I almost caved my head in from puffing on it.
Make sure you try CAO's Maduro Anniversaire, it's another cigar that doesn't disappoint.

First of all, if you can buy it in a Quickie Mart, Gas Station or Convenience Store, it ain't a cigar. I don't know WHAT it is, but it ain't a cigar.
Next, smoke one new cigar a week. Note the Brand, Size and country of origin of it's tobacco. If you like it, the following week buy either another cigar from the same brand but a different line extension or a cigar from a different brand with a similar blend. If you didn't like the cigar, note that too and next time pick something you haven't tried.
Cigar smoking is a lot like shooting a rifle, you need to get out to the range and blaze away. Nobody can talk you through it on the web. You need firsthand experience and what one smoker recommends to you might be garbage to someone else.
Take all advice (including this gem) for the price you paid for it; nothing!
I have since tried the Brazillia and LOVED it!! I'm going to buy plenty more where that one came from. not crazy about the italia though, very woodsy and one dementional.
I have a CAO MX2 in my humi right now, most likely going to smoke it at half time during the super bowl. I'll let you know.
Well I tried the MX2. Not bad.. the first 1/4 inch or so was a little rough but I chalk that up to lack of experience... once I got into it, it had a really unique taste to me.. Not bad. I'll go back this weekend and see what his next recomendation is. Thanks for the advice.
