Have a Torano reserve in a glass tube. Should the cap be taken off of the tube inside the humi or will it age inside the tube with the cedar and the moisture already inside ?

A hermetically sealed tube doesn't allow the cigar to age properly as I understand it. The good news is - It doesn't matter because that cigar is HORRIBLE. From an admitted Torano whore, I will honestly say that is their only cigar that I don't like. I would go so far as to say that I hate it. After smoking 10 or so I just plain gave in. Pick youself up an exodus silver torpedo, 1916 robusto, or a signature perfecto. Those cigars are killer, especially after a little rest time. If you were attracted to that cigar for the wrapper, try ashton or avo. They are much much better than the torano reserva. Hell, even occidental reserve are better than the torano reserva. Just My opinion.

The silver torp is possibly the nicest looking cigar I have ever seen. The flavor is great too. The only one in that line that beats it is the corona gorda IMO, but not by much. You should be pleased. Enjoy.

Question- I have some of those Gurkha crystals with the wax seal. How long will they keep outside of the humidor? The reason I'm asking is that even though they are wax sealed I smell the "aroma" of the cognac outside of the tube and am afraid of fouling the rest of my cigars. Are these something I should definitly be humidifying by themselves, will they be alright out of the humidor or will they be fine in the humidor with the rest of the smokes?
No idea man. I don't smoke tubos much but when I do I remove the cap on the tube and set them in the humidor with the tube on and the cap off. Keep the cap handy for resealing them when you travel. That is the best way to store tubos IMO. I never put flavored sticks in my humidor.

im with PMP. The reserva torp i had tasted like...nothing. the stregth was...nonexistent. the kind of cigar a non smoker would love. i, however, woudldn't pay another nickle for one. haven't smoked any other of the toranos, but Pmp and Stoge have good taste so I would take their word and def try one (if i can find em here while i am around DC i will for sure).

I'm not a fan of flavored cigars but the particulair cigar in question may be one of the worlds worst. You will be best off throwing it in the nearest trash can and counting it as a lesson learned. If you do decide to smoke it your problem will be getting the taste out of your mouth and not what it has done to your other cigars.
