Hey guys, Well I am a bit confused on what I actually smoked.

My friend bought me two Cohibas from his trip. These where not cubans, where not supposed to be. They are not the red dots I am used too they where just like Dom. cohibas and tasted like crap. Worst smoke ever imo. They where like cheapie Cohibas.

Anybody know if these are a usual or what exactly their made out of?

Did they have a band that looks like a Cohiba band?

Those are the real cream of the crap and the courts have told the manufacturers that they have to cease and desist. Apparently they haven't

Yessir, it looked like a nice mild cohiba. The cohiba band looked like the cuban cohibas not the red dot bands.

It tasted like burnt grass. They where not expensive my bud told me but for 4-5 dollers you expect it to be half decent. Hell, partagas black label are around 5 and they are a hell of a cigar imo.

Thanks for the info.

If there were cuban bands on non-cuban Cohiba's, they were fake. Sorry you got those, but that's why they tasted like crap.

If they're what I remember for a long time ago, they're not "La Habana" bands, they just look like them, but say "Republica Dominicana" on them. ANd they suck.

So they're fake NC Cohiba's, I believe.

Well no, I know for a fact they are not supposed to be cuban knock offs. It is a clearly non cuban band but it also has a band that looks nothing like red dots.

I also do not think they are fake NC's but just a really cheap cigar cohiba is/was putting out that just well, sucks. Like Docbarry suggested.

I went to a cigar shop here in fort myers, fl and I found them selling these two in boxes. They look like authentic cigars that cohiba is/was putting out.

I have a couple sitting in my humi now. Not terrible, but not the best. Cheap enough to hand out without feeling as if I've lost somethig special.

Simply put you got a fake cohiba they are all over the place. Funny story my friends son went to dominican for his honeymoon and brought his dad back a box of cohiba's. So he tell me his son got a box of cohiba's for $75 and hes give me one. I chuckled to myself not expecting the real deal and i was right on. It was veiny, stank, and the band was horrific......needless to say i let it up as a joke and it tasted like dung...

There was a yellow banded Dominican made Cohiba (maybe made by Montecristi factory(not montecristo)). General Cigar, which makes the red dot Cohiba, won a lawsuit to own the Cohiba name outside of Cuba and thus the yellow band Dominican Cohiba is no longer made. Just going from Memory on articles, so forgive me if it is not 100 percent accurate.
