I'm thinking of purchasing a box of the Padilla Miami Belicoso, but I'm a little apprehensive now that Pepin no longer blends the cigar. Has anyone tried them lately; or knows if it is still the same blend?

I have some lanceros I recently purchased but I have no way of knowing which ones are from when Pepin was there and when the stock of non-Pepin made/overseen cigars will be on the shelves. I would think there would be some decent lag time for those to be in retail.
When did the announcement come out? 2-3 months ago?

There was a thread about this earlier. I bought a box of those Belis when they had a sale at CI figuring that this was still Pepin made stock. I've had a couple so far and they were both great. I say go ahead and get that box!

Good point about the lag jlaker. I figure I should purchase these now before the blend changes. Good to hear that the Beli's specifically are tasting good. I really think Padilla and Tatuaje are Pepin's best creations, IMHO.

Don't recall where I read it, but I did read that the blend was not going to change.

It will be the same blend. I think I read Oliva provided Padilla the tobacco for the blend. I don't think you will taste too much of a difference between the two.
