The corona gorda is strong, kicks a bit in the beginning but evens out to show a flavorful, spicy smoke. It's a unique cigar and more balanced then the Tatuaje Black Robusto, which is available only at special Tatuaje events. That cigar is an outright shot in the gut, but the kind of shot you want more of.
Gotta be honest, so far, everyone I know who smoked the Tat Black corona thinks it's medium bodied and not especially strong. Maybe we're just all totally desensitized to Nicaraguan ligero at this point.
It starts strong and mellows out, for me anyway, and I've been smoking them for a year now with pretty consistent results. The Robusto is a different story. If Tatuaje ends up in your neck of the woods, buy a box at an event, get the robusto and give that size a try. I think it is stronger than the corona size.
