Fairly new but I'm excited to try them. My B&M just got them in, may pick some up next week.

Pretty solid, and a good value. A little more pepper than the old blend, but much better construction IMO.

I just picked some up, but haven't had the chance to smoke any yet. Maybe this weekend.

Charlie actually had one before they came out and I tasted it, nice smoke for the price. A bit spicier than I had expected

I like them. I miss the old blend somewhat, but as Palikar said, burn and construction are noticeably improved. The new blend is a little darker, denser and grittier in flavor, but a nice smoke for the price.

"Cuban seed tobaccos grown in Nicaragua and Cuba. The wrapper would be from Cuba. The binder leaves would be from Nicaragua. For the ligero tobacco in the filler, he would use two types, one from Esteli and the other from Jalapa in Nicaragua. The other filler components, seco and viso, would come from Cuba, the former from Villa Clara, the latter from Pinar del Rio. That Cigar, he says with pride, would score 100 points."

Funny, no closeout deals on the old production. I know there is some stock floating around somewhere because from what I heard, Ashton offered to take back remaining stock and exchange it for the new product. I was kinda hoping to pick some up before they were gone for good, like I was able to with Petersen's.

I think Sathya Levin posts on here from time to time, maybe I'll start a thread and see if he responds.

Hmm, I just got some of those in a Holt's 90+ sampler. I wonder if they are the old blend or the new blend?

Hey Gary, those are the LADC Edicion Especial. That blend has always been made by Pepin and hasn't changed. It's the "normal" LADC that is now also blended by Pepin, which did not used to be.

The LADC EE is a very fine smoke.

Ahh, good to know.

Thanks to a couple of strategic sampler buys and a couple of very generous BOTLs I seem to suddenly have way too many good smokes in my humidor. I need to get to puffing...

You know what, I mistakenly thought you were reviewing the EEs, with the yellow labels. I'll have to reread your review now. Wink

I love these. They have been my go to cigar for about 6 weeks, and I am planning to buy a box of them. Under $7 for a Churchill is a great deal.

CI has a pretty good special on these. Buy a box and for fifteen more bucks you get ten solid Pepin smokes (No 5 Vegas Miami crap):
