Cheaper just got in some edge bundles. The first edge I had was pretty good but the rest were soooo terrible they deserve to be sold in budles. I guess I'm not the only one who felt this way.

My tobacconist got a box in recently that was so bad he took them off the shelf to sit for a while.

Oh, well... get em while their hot fellas. Big Grin

Thanks for the heads up. I had one that was in my box for about 6 or 7 months and liked it so much was thinking of getting more. I've got two more but will not hold off buying more. Like I need a few more smokes anyway.

They seem to be pushing the "Edge" pretty hard lately around here.....every shop I've been in recently has large boxes of unbanded sticks sitting very prominently displayed in their humidors.....even in the liquor stores! Corona had boxes of them stacked six feet high on the end of an aisle the last time I was there.

The first Edges I tried were very good, but I got two as freebies recently, and I was pretty disappointed. Not the same at all.....maybe with some rest they will be better...but there are way too many good new lines being introduced lately.

THe original release Edge's were awesome...THey have gone downhill for sure though.

People aren't smoking cigars to be trendy, cool or stylish. They're smoking cigars because they like them. Because they enjoy the experience. Because for about $5 they can spend an hour sampling one of life's greatest luxuries.

also i forgot...these are still pretty decent sticks, they sell like crazy at the shop here...they just seem to be very inconsistent, compared to the first few original boxes...i still say that rocky has got several different manufacturs or factories or something that he's buying these from, and the blend and quality of leaf changes in the process...

I have only smoked one of these, and it was at a Rocky Patel Event at my local shop. But it was one of the best cigars I have ever had. I have another sitting in the humi. Perhaps I will have to smoke it tonight to see if it is as good as the last. I hope so, but you guys are starting to scare me. I thought I found a winner!

I agree. Weird how people either love them or hate them lately. I like them and keep buying them by the handful. Haven't had a bad one yet.

I've smoked enough of these to know its not a love/hate thing. The partagas black - thats a love hate thing. The quality of these just declined in a big way. I posted a review on them within maybe a few weeks of them coming out. The cigar was very good and one of the strongest I have ever smoked. It had a bit of a unique flavor but a good recognizeable corojo profile. Fast forward a several months. Now the RP edge is super popular but every edge I have picked up since then, whether sent to me as a gift or purchased in a local shop is Junk. The strength is much less too. These cannot hold a candle to the first batch.

Well guys, I smoked one last night to see if this was true, that my gem of a cigar had gone bad. First of all I purchased the cigar at my local shop where I had purchased the first and only one I had smoked before. But I purchased it about a month later, so it is unlikely from the same box. Upon lighting I was relieved to find that its great flavor profile was still intact. What I absolutely love about these cigars is the fact that as you smoke them they don't get that nasty harsh taste. It seems that most medium to full bodied cigars get this way toward the last inch or two. But this cigar is different again I smoked it down to the nub. The flavor definately does change but rather than getting harsh it matures into a more strong tasting cigar. As for the burn, it was absolutely perfect with a beutiful white ash that held up for an inch and a half or two before it started to look a little week so I hade to ash it. I was in my cigar bar and didn't want to burn my futon or clothing. But in the end I still don't know if my retailer had gotten all of these in a while back or if he has been purchasing new boxes. So I guess it doesn't put an end to that mystery. But I do know I will be purchasing more from my B&M.

This scares me because I had one just a couple of weeks ago and it was fantastic, now these posts are over a year old so maybe they have gotten their quality back up but it was the strongest and most flavorful smoke I have ever had, I hope to enjoy more.

Wow, haven't seen this thread in a while. Just for kicks I lit up an RP edge missile the other day. I tossed it after 4 puffs. It was just harsh.

Pmp, was that Missle a maduro? There is a big difference between the maduro and Corojo.

had a corojo torpedo the other day... was a bit harsh the first half inch, but then turned into quite a nice, flavorful smoke.

I picked up a bundle the other day and they were lousy. I haven't smoked many NC's lately but I do remember these being a very good cigar for the price but something has changed I believe with the blend. To me it's definately different and in my opinion not nearly as good as around last year when I had quite a few. I'm not going to pick any more up. Doesn't Rocky have enough cigars allready? I can't believe he needs more on the shelf.
