Buddy of mine and I enjoyed our first CG:4's last night. I was really impressed with it.

Okay, I've tried a few of the line now so I'm going to make my annoucement. "Illusione cigars are the best NC cigars that money can buy". Dion, if your reading this, the only cigars on earth that can best yours come from Cuba, period. It should be mentioned that a lot of Cubans aren't even as good. GREAT cigars, congratulations.

There are some world-class cigars that come out of Cuba. Thanks for putting mine in your ranking! BTW - nice try on the sampler LOL!

I was joking on the sampler comment. I was serious on the quality of your cigars though. These are no joke people, if you can find them then I'd recommend you grab them. Nice job Dion!!!!

Jweb and all,

Dion is understandably modest when comparing his cigars to the Cuban stable. But....I have to agree with JWeb, these cigars are nothing but high quality; taste, draw, construction, etc. I rank them right at the top of the scale myself. A good cigar is a good cigar, no matter where it comes from. Again, we applaud you Dion.

I like the cg:4 but the 88 is my favorite. The 88 has lots of spice and POW.

Thank you Jweb, now I really can't wait till I find a site that has them in stock. I'm going up North in a couple weeks and I'd love to order some for that occasion.

Gonnagal, Do a quick google search and you should find some internet vendors. I am not affiliated with them, but have had good experiences buying from New Havana Cigars. I also think that they are the only one to carry ECCJ (which I need more of!). They ship all or their orders in vaccum sealed packing with a humidipak. This is a nice touch, especially since I am awaiting a new humidor!

I love NHC, that's where I ordered my box of eccj from. I was looking over the weekend and their sold out of the cg:4's and 88's.

I am smoking the 1st of my eccj's. I am really enjoying the flavor but this is the 2nd Illusione that I have smoked that would not hold an ash (cg4 being the other). Not really a huge problem but it is annoying when an ash <1" falls on your shirt. Maybe I am becoming insane and falling ashes is my cigar pet-peeve!

Only Illusione I've had that problem was with the HL, after it was about 1/2 way done the ash seemed to hold on a little better. Glad you are enjoying the eccj.

Personally afte having a few Illusiones I think my top 3 are:

cg:4
eccj
HL

I have yet to try the 88 and 888. I hear the 88 is very good also. I do have a m7 at home that I will be smoking next weekend.

Sorry 'bout that guys! I've had this issue from time to time. It's usually a minor one but, pops up every so often. I've been told one of two scenarios;

1. the binder doesn't quite make it down to the foot of the cigar when rolling. This will cause the 1st inch of ash to errantly fall.

2. Last year, we selected a different priming to solve this issue. This could've caused it as well. All of the recent production this year has had no issues. My F9 last night had just about a 3 inch ash before I dropped it right in the keyboard!

I have also had a few quick ashers from the regular line. After I smoked my first ECCJ, I bought a few boxes based upon the construction and flavor - knowing that these will also age really well. The second ECCJ I had was oval in shape, soft and was obvioulsy flawed. I tried to hang on for as long as I could, but I had to put her down. Mistakes happen.

Regardless, they are too good and I will accept the occasional bad apple. I'll take a bad asher over a plugged cigar anyday...and I have never experienced a plugged Illusione.

If a falling ash is my only complaint, there is not much to complain about. I am loving each Illusione I smoke: mk, cg4, hl, eccj, 68, 88. I will continue sampling the whole line. Dion, keep the great cigars coming and thanks.

By the way, Dion, what is the word on the Cruzado?

Zman, What did you think of ECCJ vs regular Illusione regarding flavor? I really like it. Not that I don't like the regular line... fantastic as well, just different. I'm also looking forward to Cruzado. Maybe Dion will give us a hint on how they smoke/taste! BTW, the 68 I'm smoking is burning and tasting perfect. Bombone!

I loved the eccj. I actually put it in my ashtray as a nub, looked at it and realized I could get a few more puffs off of it, dusted off some ashes and burned my fingers for 2 or 3 more draws! Take that falling ash Wink As for eccj v. original, Lamborghini or Ferrari?

You are making want to go out for a night cap!
